Can't wait to test it out. And they address what I think is the most annoying thing about it. Devs use it just to toss whatever they want in there instead of using it for notifications (speaking generally in the Winders direction)
so it'll be like a universal menu for all app's? i like the windows 7 solution with the exception of 983475 pop-ups (baloons?) that i couldn't give a fucking shit about. hopefully it'll be something similar, some options so the user can choose what to show and what to not show.
I like the idea.

So it was good that they placed the hidden ones in a flyout, though that doesn't address any of the real issues that it has. Microsoft did actually create a whole new notifications service that let the user customize what showed, what didn't, when something showed, when it didn't, and mores "rules" for the notification area. They scrapped it.
I like these changes.
Seems like great progress, I like this idea! Now we need steam and source (+GMOD) for GNU/Linux, and I won't hang around in this Windows environment much longer :D

Just saying. In other news, good on them. I really don't like the notification tray in windows.
This all sounds pretty good, might upgrade to 10.04 when it's released today just for this!
This is great. Now all I have to do is get a new hard drive and stick ubuntu on it (dual boot)
