Alright, I was piddling around today with an older computer I purchased. I installed Isadora using the LiveCD, and everything was good. I added a second hard drive, a floppy drive, and some more RAM (two 512mb sticks and a 256mb stick more, one 512mb stick was already included.) After installing these I power it up and get to the login screen fine, but as soon as I login the hard drive just shuts down. I also tried booting from the liveCD and once Mint is started up, it proceeds to crash. Anyone able to help?
This is such a pain. I'm also downloading the Ubuntu .iso right now so I'll have something non-Mint to try.

Alright, with Ubuntu LiveCD, as soon as I got past the loading screen I was given pages of errors. Blech.
Sounds like a hardware fuckup. Try running memtest from the Ubuntu LiveCD(it's most likely that)
Like I said, I can't get to anything past the loading screen with Ubuntu LiveCD. It's just the console filled with errors.

Should I just remove the extra RAM I added and give it another go?
IIRC you select memtest from the bootloader on the Ubuntu LiveCD.
Removing the RAM might be worth trying though.
Yep, removed some of the RAM, works great. Thanks guys.
