I highly, HIGHLY doubt MC would even get near 16GB; I doubt it could hit 8GB..I even doubt it could hit 4GB. (Maybe if you're hosting for a ridiculous amounts of players) Bad case, shit PSU, you don't need a cooler for RAM, and you didn't add a GPU so you won't be doing any gaming.
ya, the amount of RAM you can cut down on to atleast 8gig and find another case :P
He won't be doing anything, because it doesn't even have onboard video.
i have a video card a 9600gt its my old card but the 16gb is for hosting servers
i have a video card a 9600gt its my old card but the 16gb is for hosting servers
Why bother upgrading to a top of the line CPU, and using a GPU from generations ago?
Because a server doesn't need a powerful GPU. They operate without a display 99% of the time.
Because a server doesn't need a powerful GPU. They operate without a display 99% of the time.
But it's server/gaming pc.
Which is oxymoronic. [editline]14th July 2011[/editline] A server is a dedicated system to hosting network resources, having a high power gaming system running 24/7 is absurd.
ya thats why i dont need a gpu i just thew in a old one
Then why bother putting gaming in the thread title? Also you might wanna consider Z68 chipset motherboard, use your high end gpu when gaming and when using it as a server switch the the iGPU.
Then why bother putting gaming in the thread title?
I guess it's because it's a gameserver. Still a bad title though.
If he's using this purely for minecraft then he's a moron 1. His 'community' will die out after max 1/2 year. 2. His internet connection will probably suck. 3. He can do it way cheaper and better by just renting servers. Just saying. Think again before you throw some money away. [editline]15th July 2011[/editline] Also, unless you're making this a fileserver, you're better off (and faster) running your os + minecraft server off a SSD.
If he's using this purely for minecraft then he's a moron 1. His 'community' will die out after max 1/2 year.
Don't know if this will be true. Minecraft still has potential to become really big.
Don't know if this will be true. Minecraft still has potential to become really big.
You missed the rest of that post. And Minecraft is already huge, there is already a massive oversaturation of game servers. Though, to be fair, a server started by a few of my friends and I still has some people on it.
Don't know if this will be true. Minecraft still has potential to become really big.
that's why i ran one of the biggest servers? lol made 1.2k in a week then got a server. then i gave owner ship to a baddie who was co owner at the time.

Your lack of proper grammar point to a low age 2. You give a server away for free to someone 3. Show some proof of your biggest server.
Also, What is your internet connection? Speedtest.net please.
