I have an ASUS G72GX:
-6GB DDR2 1066MHz RAM
-Nvidia GTX 260M 1GB
-Intel Core 2 Duo P8700 @ 2.53GHz
-500GB HDD
Suddenly games just don't run as well. Just one or two days ago, I was able to run Crysis on all very high, with the exception of shaders and shadows at a pretty good fps. Suddenly, running the game at all high results in lag. Same with OFDR and every other game I have. I haven't messed around with hardware much, except for using the built-in CPU overclocker that OCs to 2.9Ghz when playing games. Is there any reason for this slowdown?
Are you on the latest video drivers?

This wouldn't explain ANYTHING if that was the reason. Makes no sense. But it's still safe to update.
Try defragging ur hard-drive, use this, better than system defrag, http://www.piriform.com/defraggler
Have you installed anything recently that could be running when you boot up?

Well why don't you try disabling the overclocker then? It may have caused the CPU to overheat, laptops usually don't have very good cooling.
