Hey I am moving alone to Sweden (hopefully will be ready to go by winter) and I was wondering where a good place to live for a couple years or so (maybe permanent too early to tell) would be. I am learning Swedish so I should be somewhat understandable when I get there. I will need to be at someplace where I can rent an apartment and be able to get some sort of job since I am not a money mongerer atm, if you know what I mean and I would like to inquire about how to get a citizenship and whether it is mandatory also I turn 18 this year so age might cause problems?
Or you can go to Norway and wash yourself with oil and get wullah for staying there
Move to Skåne, Österlen Wide open areas, beautiful at summer and lots of snow at winter
Since you need a job I'd not recommend moving to the countryside like J!m suggested. I think it'd be better if you tried Stockholm or Stockholm Suburban areas.
Denmark is the real deal
Rosengård. Or Rinkeby.
Come to Nyköping It is lonely here.

After you've lived a certain amount of years in Sweden (I think it's 5, but there's lots of exceptions) as a permanent resident you can apply for citizenship http://www.migrationsverket.se/info/medborgare_en.html Also, you can't just pack up and move, without a work permit, or a study visa.

Motala, Östergötland, Only a 3 hour drive to both Stockholm and Göteborg. ~40k citizen, and we have many stores here. :buddy: Doesn't matter what you need, you can find it here, You don't to drive to Linköping which is 1 hour away by car like you had to before to buy stuff for your car or shit. And everyone is friendly here, buses that leaves the heart of the city every 30 minutes in all directions of the city and back again. Couple of bars (if you like to drink). Beautiful summers and cold-as-fuck winters. The city is kind of small but the pro's are that its close to everything. Ride as far as you want with the town busses as far as you want. We also have alot of resturants, a library if you like to read, a huge park, 2 churches if you're religious. Yup, you can pretty much find anything here. We also got around 20-30 pizzastores here, McDonalds, Burger King. Since you're 18 you'll find an apartment here pretty easily. There are alot of places to find apartments that has really cheep rent (3000-4000) SEK. I highly recommend Motala.
You'd be better off going to Germany or somewhere else. The women are the men in Scandinavia.
You'll regret it. Soon enough you'll move to Norway to get a job along with the rest of the Swedes :v:
Anywhere in the vicinity of a Ikea
Finland. That's~all.
Finland. That's~all.
This man is telling the truth. I have spoken to a number of Finns, and in their unbiased objective opinion they say Finland is better than Sweden.
Helsingborg area in Nortwest of Skåne. Loadsawork, not too much shit going on.
Thanks so far guys, I will be looking into these areas also can someone tell me what kind of figure the rent will be for an average apartment
Depends on where you plan on staying.
(3000-4000) SEK. :
Thanks for that estimate by the way o; [editline]4th January 2012[/editline]
Depends on where you plan on staying.
well that is the point of the thread :v: [editline]4th January 2012[/editline] I should have around $8,500 usd (if I do this right) by August and that should be plenty for the plane ticket and a couple months of rent, food, etc
