• Gimp 2.6 No Toolbox, Layers window?

I am using Gimp 2.6. I have no Toolbox or Layers window. They are not visble on screen. My guess is that they are all on the extreme left or right of the screen, out of the reach of my cursor based on the same happening with the "Create New Document" window . :argh: What can I do? :ohdear:
Ctrl + b
I've tried that already. Didn't do anything.
I had the same thing. I just went to Paint.NET because I couldn't ever find a reason why this would happen. Some windows would open on another monitor, some off screen, some like the tool windows wouldn't show up at all. Never could find a fix.
But I don't like Paint.Net :saddowns:
Ive been waiting forever for dockable toolbars in GIMP, its GIMP's greatest drawback.
Well, untill I can get a solution, any alternative software?
Well, untill I can get a solution, any alternative software?
You can try the 2.8 beta. It has a single window mode. So even if you can't access the toolbar you can enable it and it'll be right there. Though it won't save like that so each time you open it you have to set it. Also the save dialog no longer allows saving to anything but .xcf. Which is unbelievably stupid in my opinion. You have to use the export dialog (apparently to the devs, convenience is overrated).
Ummm yeah. no. Fuck that.
