Got a Commodore 64 with no cables or anything. Need help on what I need to get. Happy to provide any info needed.
Sell it to MIPS V:v:V
Sell it to MIPS V:v:V
Looking for useful replies actually.
Well, if it has no cables then I guess you should get cables.
Well, if it has no cables then I guess you should get cables.
I have the "keyboard." That's it. Supposedly what I need is model-based? No idea.

Don't need a model or anything?
Winners to the bottom right? :v: You want a power supply, a diskette thing to save whatever you do, and an RCA cable to hook it to an old TV. You can probably get all of those on Ebay or similar, diskette reader might cost you a bit, tho.
Don't need a model or anything?
If it supplies the correct power requirements then no, model will not matter.
Yeah, I'll need a photograph as well. There's at least two different type of connectors they used for power in the history of the C64. Circular DIN and square DIN. The video connection though for the most part was the same and to boot, all C64's support S-video. Once you got power and video you can start using either cartridge based software or punch in stuff from BASIC.
Sell it to MIPS V:v:V
Yeah, I'll pass. A have a Commodore 128.
I brought a Commodore 64 and a ton of cassettes a while ago, I think your best bet for finding cables and peripherals would be on Ebay.
So, you're saying that this will work? 100% chance? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Commodore-64-Computer-Black-Power-Supply-Tested-1-/140826216740?pt=US_Vintage_Computers_Mainframes&hash=item20c9e58924

That dust
Screw all other advice in this thread clean it before it bursts into flames
Brush + vacuum cleaner will do the trick.
You need a 4 pin din to RCA cable to get some video from it (you may get need a 4 pin din with 4 RCA plugs on the end to get audio). The power cable shouldn't be too hard to find. Don't buy any software on cassette, you might get lucky with 5 1/4 inch floppy disks. The C64 is ok, but you'd have more fun with an Amiga.
that chip on the card reader is probably more powerfull than the whole commodore
could the commodore even support a modern SD card
could the commodore even support a modern SD card
Funky voodoo magic hacks that make it emulate a 1541 floppy drive. They're nice but expensive as hell.
