How about a $300 Android tablet? You can turn an e-reader into a fully functional Android tablet by rooting the Nook Color. It's limited to wifi, of course, but it's still one hell of a deal.
I don't know too much about this, but I'm considering selling my iPod Touch and doing this instead. I just thought I'd share with you guys.

Have a clock, this has been out for a while. But the processor and such is apparently shite.
Sure looks like it's running that game great.
There's a buggy HoneyComb port to it as well
According to some recent articles from Ars Technica, Google is in danger of ruining their image and grasp on their mobile OS. One reason was that they aren't releasing the source code for Honeycomb and they are quite strict about what hardware gets to use the android marketplace (which Amazon now competes with).
looks amazingly fast, the games didnt lag at all
I've been running a nook color rooted for a while (and I've mentioned it in the *android* thread), and honestly, it's not that good of a device for several reasons:
The touch screen wasn't built for lots of use, as in it collects fingerprints like a magnet, and often times, input isn't picked up as accurately as it would have on a phone. Animations are poor(it's a reader), and although 3d runs well, basic UI elements have trouble staying properly on the screen.
When using the stock rom, the most infuriating thing is dealing with SoftKeys. Because not all apps open the bottom bar to menu and back buttons, if you go into the stock rom for any time, you're forced to use the third party app SoftKeys to emulate back and menu buttons, which leaves a little icon fixated at some point on your screen at all times, including when gaming. You can turn it off, but then you end up fighting your way back into rooted apps, as the stock ones will do their best to keep you locked in.
i've got mine rooted and overclocked on honecomb and i've seen 1900 quadrant scores from it
Sexy, about to buy one so I can do this. Thanks.
I was thinking about one. Tempted me, but I just got a phone instead.
