This article is so full of shit I wouldn't even know where to start.
Must be a slow day
Pretty funny that one of the rags showing off 16K IsolAlien downsized to 2K shots and all the the Division and Watch Dogs vids they could get their hands on has anything to say about bullshots. Not hypocritical at all.
They're bitching about developers positioning characters for promotional screenshots??? Shut the fuck up! This is like cunts at fast food places that nag cashiers about their hamburger not having perfect distances between each sesame seed like in the picture. [editline]w[/editline] What I mean is a lot of his critiques of screenshots boil down to "Wow this situation would never happen so perfectly in-game, advertising the most exciting case scenario is false marketing." Like yeah obviously characters aren't gonna be cinematically shooting around each other while striking poses; this article just seems like a guy grasping for a straw to complain about.
Most of them seem to just be downsampled, isn't that a thing you can actually do in games these days with stuff like Nvidia's DSR, SSAA, etc?

Hes basically fed up with people fancying up screenshots to lure people in. I think this would be more of an analogy of how their burger doesn't look like the one in the picture. I swear I could write a better article about the subject. When he talks about Crysis, it's obvious he never played the game. The koreans are getting frozen and not lasered, therefore there is no ragdolling in that scene, it's not a bullshot. Crysis had one example and even that is kinda nitpicking (bullshot on the left, actual ingame example on the right) [t]https://mthec.files.wordpress.com/2009/04/crymelee02.jpg[/t][t]http://i.imgur.com/tSAaPm3.jpg[/t] The shantys ingame break down to segments and some random debris when hit, the small planks don't break or bend as implied by this shot. The pictured broken wall was specifically modelled for this screenshot, and you can find it in the editor if you look hard enough. And he also left out one of the biggest bullshots of all time, the FSX DX9/10 comparison shots: Also the pre-release screens of Killzone [t]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v63/Madridexpo/killzone.jpg[/t][t]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v63/Madridexpo/img2301killzone22cd4.jpg[/t] If you are interested in more, check this thread: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1155419
Either way, Crysis isn’t capable of such a believable ragdoll animation
- Judged from a still image are they for real :v:
