Not sure if this is the right sub-forum, but I was wondering; is anyone here a Deist? I'm just wondering, because I myself am one. I'm not sure how much of a religion it actually is. I know it's valid, like it is an actual religion or has been at least, but I don't think it's really common these days. Sorry if it comes off as weird or something.
I used to be a deist when I was a child Also George Washington and some other founding fathers were deists
Now that I think of it, I can't recall ever meeting a deist in person.
Shame.
I think i was at some point between being a Christian and becoming an Atheist.
I had no idea about this religion, it's pretty interesting and grounded. I like it, but it's definitely not for me
I'm not a Deist, but I would be if I wasn't so tied to my cultural roots.

I consider my belief set to be similar to that of Deism but I'm more of a moderate Christian.
Deism always seemed like more of a philosophy than a religion to me. It's certainly not an organized one. I'm pretty sure that there are plenty of deists out there, but most of them call themselves something else because they don't know the term. Often I hear people mistakenly refer to deism as agnosticism, implying that agnosticism is the belief in some higher power, but not christian/muslim/etc.
I'm not a Deist, but I would be if I wasn't so tied to my cultural roots.
how can you want to be a religion but not be it? I've never understood this
I used to be one back when I was 10 or so,when I still believed in god but found that religion is a bit morally suspicious
I think quite a few people are "kind-of" deists. They believe in a god, and claim to be christian, but in reality never go to church, couldn't list 5 of the 10 commandments, etc.. They probably only know the story of Jesus because of pop culture.
I looked up deism and this is where I would place my mom. She believes that is something higher than us that we can't understand.
I was a deist back when I was young and religion was still relevant to me, since then my life's experiences have led me to be an athiest though.
I used to be
