• How's my build?

So for the past week or so I've been finalizing a computer build and I've narrowed it between two options First I have this build which is the one I feel would be best: http://i.imgur.com/DaSE4.png (Linked for size) http://i.imgur.com/j4HTJ.png Replace the motherboard with http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131819 or http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131821 But do you guys think I should spend the extra bit to go with this one?: http://i.imgur.com/dgAKk.png http://i.imgur.com/eGcHC.png I'm really looking at lifespan on this as well. If anything needs to be tweaked on a build please say so.
Your RAM is overpriced, Buy Windows 7 Home Premium OEM, buy a 670 instead of a 680, what do you plan on doing with the computer to justify an i7 instead of an i5, and buy an ssd. I'm judging the first build because the second one is just stupid unless you're doing some serious video rendering

The 680 and i7 are based off of me looking at benchmarks for various things so I'm pretty much set on those. I actually forgot to add the SSD. Thats also a big reason why I thought the second build was a bit overkill for what I need

The RAM could be $10 cheaper.

Are you only going to be gaming? Because if so there's absolutely no reason to be spending $100 more for the 3770k over the 3570k. OEM is same as retail except you can only use the key once, so if you're already spending 2k on a computer, I'm assuming you won't be needing to install more than once for quite a while. -Cheaper PSU, mostly same internals http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817194086 -More reliable hard drive http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822152185 -Much better heatsink for more money http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835608018 or slightly better heatsink for less money http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103099 -And Finally, a case with better airflow http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119160

Also that HDD isn't more reliable at all. Seagate owns Samsung's HDD division now, and even if they didn't Seagate drives are perfectly fine. 7200.11 owners need to get over the drive failures already, it was 3 years ago. What is true is that it'll be faster as evidenced by benchmarks.
680 in SLI? What the hell are you using it for??... I mean if it's just for enthusiast sake then fine, but if you're plan on doing that for any practical use - well, there really isn't any for several years at the least. The 680 (Or even 670 for that matter) gets sky high frames in every game out there.

I never planned on the 680 for SLI, if anyone does that they might as well get a 690.
-And Finally, a case with better airflow http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119160
I generally don't mess with a person's case decision, because most of the time, they picked it because they believe it looks good, and would rather have a good looking case than a really efficient yet subjectively ugly case.
Make sure the HDD firmware is up to date, there was a bug with the APM on the Barracuda series (can't be turned off/chirping sounds) that was fixed around a month ago.
I think my final decision right now is about the graphics card. The 670 seems like a definite better choice over the 680 especially if I ever decide to SLI after maybe a price drop. And on the case I thought it would be fine and even if it isn't i can always just add some fans or cooling. Maybe the Antec Twelve Hundred would be better though?
