Everytime i click shut down it just restarts! please help because it may fuck up.
take out the battery
Hold down the power button for approximately 5 seconds..
Does it flash a bluescreen prior to the reboot?
Are you actually turning it off or hibernating it?
What brand & model is it? What operating system are you using?
Theres no bluescreen and i just press shut down in start but it just restarts.

You can shut it down normally then when it reboots back to bios you can turn it off there, safely.

Yeah after, BananasGoMoo didn't say anything about it being after.
Sounds very wierd, usually when windows restarts instead of shutting down it displays a bluescreen (might flash fast so the user won't allways take notice of it)
Have you tried system restore to a known good point in time ?
Try giving more info. This is easily solvable on vista/7 in most cases, but if it's XP I have no clue.
Go into your BIOS and disable 'auto power on' or something like that.
