Its weird, even though fancy 2D graphics are kind of the norm when it comes to indie platformers, I think I would have preferred it here.
I guess I've just never been a big fan of 2.5D in platformers.

Honestly, as much as I REALLY want to be excited for Mighty No 9, this is my thought every time I see a video of it.

Still 6+ months for development.

Looked way better in the concept for the 2D.

that walk animation looks so floaty

Yeah this looks incredibly better. If they had hand drawn the art it could have been unique to megaman, this trailer looks like a poor version of the GC Network Battle game.
Holy shit that 2D, why did they choose not to go with that? Looks gorgeous.

Hell, if SNK could do hand-drawn sprites, why can't Comcept?

Concept art is always too good to be true sadly.

it's because they aren't exploiting the 3D-ness when designing the levels/backgrounds, so the levels just look bland/boring
Yeah, this is very underwhelming. I wasn't excited about it personally because I was never into Megaman, but goodness, this is nothing like the concept art and considering the budget it looks very amateur.

You mean Network Transmission? I loved that game, except for the Japanese-only voices.
I guess I'm the odd one out here, but I like the way it looks. I always loved well designed 2.5d platformers, and this is looking really nice for how early in development it is. I really don't get why people expected it to be hand drawn like the concept art, they showed WiP models in their Kickstarter.
