Ok, I just shutdown my PC about 10 mins ago as it was getting unbearably slow, then when I went to turn it back on there were 3 lights on my motherboard (GA-M720 something) 1st, 3rd and 4th, then the PC shutdown, then automatically tried to reboot in a constant loop. Now, all the fans are spinning, the CPU fan is spinning certainly, what could be the issue?
EDIT - I'm an idiot, the 3 lights are on the 4870
You could reset your cmos, have a look on the internet how to do that.
Other than that, I don't know, resetting the cmos usually fixes it when I get that problem.
The 3 lights are on the 4870 my apologies, I should have looked closer.
Oh, well I think you've either overclocked your graphics card, making it overheat and break, or it's overheating and you should leave it to cool while cleaning out the dust.
Does your pc start up now, or are you using another pc to post?
Using another PC. I've just taken it out and checked for damage/dust etc but looked fine, put it back in and same error. The card is overclocked but it's a factory overclock. I'll leave it to cool for the moment.

Ok heres my progress.
I've tried completely removing the GPU and still the same problem. Fans start then cut out after a few seconds. The diagnostic lights for the GPU are
D1601 - Red LED On, shows critical temperature fault
D1602 - Red LED On, shows External power connector A was removed
D1603 - Red LED On, shows External power connector B was removed
D601 - Red LED On, shows critical Core power fault
I have all of them excepct for D601 meaning no Core Power fault. So I assume basically that the PSU is starting then cutting out thus causing the lights to come on saying it's lost power. It could also be the mobo or cpu. But I personally think it could be the PSU, but I'm going to go take it down to CCL and have them run a diagnostic so I can suss out what part is dead and get it replaced. Hopefully it's not the CPU as it was expensive and I have overclocked it...
