Quakecon Pack is a better deal.
Honestly Brink is an OK game. Multiplayer is nice but playing by yourself is horrid. Considering it's a fairly new release 25$ isn't bad.
But then again, there are better cheaper CO-OP online games such as L4D1 and 2 and Killing Floor.
Pfffft same deal
I hoped Brink to be -66/-75% today at least.
how to acquire free game
1. buy game
2. get promo hat
3. sell hat after promo for price of game
4. you now have the arab money.
or.
1. win brink from steam treasure hunt for absolutely free.
2. get promo hat.
3. sell hat after promo.
that's how it is for me.
So basically nothing new
...playing by yourself is horrid.
Your K:D ratio has to be at least 8:1 to win some of the single player campaign games...on normal. And even then, it's no guarantee your team's AI will complete the objective.
Multiplayer was okay, but I still feel more drawn to Counter-Strike: Source.
This game is so horrendously buggy and it runs like ass for me. I wouldn't buy it at any price.
I'm really glad I got it for free. It's such a mediocre game.
Which is a shame, because it had so much potential.
Someone said buggy?
They don't have a limit on the number of simultaneous sounds that can be played or something, because when you have all the players in your PVS, sound glitches out a lot - makes the game unplayable. And, unfortunately, some of the challenges and maps do put most of the players in your PVS.

I haven't seen any bugs since the patches but it still has some optimization issues for some people
Brink isn't worth it. I played the free weekend and I couldn't follow the game at all.
DLC free for 2 weeks
Free weekend
and now a sale.
That doesn't say anything, right?
Lame.
Brink isn't worth it. I played the free weekend and I couldn't follow the game at all.
Opinions on it are pretty mixed where some people love it and others find it boring or can't run it. Good thing for the free weekend so people can actually try it.
wow what a shitty deal today.
or.
1. win brink from steam treasure hunt for absolutely free.
2. get promo hat.
3. sell hat after promo.
that's how it is for me.
I had a friend who even went to the lengths to use Steam achievement manager, and he still didn't win.
really hope theres a sale on fallout DLC tomorow
Shitty game.
Shitty game.
The hell is wrong with you? It's not as bad as you think it is
really hope theres a sale on fallout DLC tomorow
The store schema had nothing about a Fallout pack, so the Fallout sale tomorrow has to be a price drop.
The hell is wrong with you? It's not as bad as you think it is
I don't 'think', I know thanks to the free weekend.
[editline]7th August 2011[/editline]
But that's all opinions, of course.
I wish this just had a permanent demo. I'm kind of interested in this but the massively mixed opinions have really put me off and I've just not had a chance to download it for this free weekend.
I know everyone knows this now but the huge trend of not having a demo for most games is making me way more wary of buying new games.
Played the game, loved it, going to purchase it at a later date, I guess some people just played one mission and then decided that it's a shit game.
i hope tomorrow's deal makes up for this shit
i hope tomorrow's deal makes up for this shit
It's fallout, so if you're not interested in that you're outta luck.
SO tomorrow is Fallout sale right? Should I get the New Vegas thingy?
Well, less tomorrow than in four hours time. And yeah, I'd recommend FO:NV. Gave me 70 hours of play time in the first week I'd bought it and I did fuck all except level my character.
So.. I can buy brink for 25 euros..
Or I can buy
Quake III Arena, Quake IV, Wolfenstein 3D, The Ultimate Doom, Final DOOM, DOOM II, QUAKE, QUAKE II, QUAKE II Mission Pack: The Reckoning, QUAKE II Mission Pack: Ground Zero, QUAKE III: Team Arena, HeXen: Beyond Heretic, HeXen: Deathkings of the Dark Citadel, Heretic: Shadow of the Serpent Riders, Spear of Destiny, Return to Castle Wolfenstein, QUAKE Mission Pack 2: Dissolution of Eternity, QUAKE Mission Pack 1: Scourge of Armagon, DOOM 3, HeXen II, DOOM 3 Resurrection of Evil, Master Levels for Doom II, Commander Keen, Rogue Warrior, The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind® Game of the Year Edition, Call of Cthulhu®: Dark Corners of the Earth, BRINK, Fallout 3: Game of the Year Edition, Fallout: New Vegas, Hunted: The Demon’s Forge™, Fallout New Vegas: Dead Money, Fallout New Vegas: Honest Hearts, Fallout New Vegas: Old World Blues , The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion® Game of the Year Edition Deluxe
For 66 euros
Yeaaaaaaahhh... I think I know which one I would buy if I wanted to.
