Hey, just wondering if it's possible to use any kind of Dual-Core CPU on this here motherboard?
QDI P4I865PE Novo
What I got now is some ancient P4 :crying:
Isn't that a 478 board? You could probably pick up one of the Foster Xeons, but those only have Hyperthreading, not dual core.
If you want to do anything big with your system you'll have to upgrade. Though it wouldn't cost much to just do cpu, gpu, ram, and mobo.
Ah that's a bitch, don't have enough for a full upgrade, but yeah, it's a 478 board, and I already got a Hyperthreading CPU. Guess I just got to get more cash and build a new PC I guess.
478 CPUs cost about as much as a new build anyway now days. What is your budget?
Budget at this point: 0$, but I will probably get a new PC on my birthday, which is next month.

Make a new thread one week before your birthday and give us your budget.

Wont get a budget, my dad insists on buying a pc like this one http://www.komplett.se/k/ki.aspx?sku=344159
That's not too terrible for the price.
True, but it's probably to expensive for him, so this one might be good, reviews of it are great http://www.komplett.se/k/ki.aspx?sku=323200

That's probably the one I'm gonna get, the HDD is more than enough for me anyway.
That's probably the one I'm gonna get, the HDD is more than enough for me anyway.
Uhh no don't get it. You will regret it.
Dad's a cheap bastard, he wont get me any better than that.

Besides, the only games I play are WoW and MW2, and I would say it's good enough to run both on max.

At a choppy framerate maybe.

The problem with that hard drive is that it will die not that it is low capacity.

I wouldn't say so, my friend has got the exact same pc, he runs at 50-60 FPS in a 25man raid in WoW, I run at 2 fps.
I doubt your friend runs WoW with that PC at 50-60 FPS where I have a 4890 and AMD 940 and run it on max with 30-40 FPS.
Well, he does.

His friend probably doesn't know how to increase settings. it is probably at 800 by 600. :byodood:

At 1280x1024 actually, all settings up to max.
At 1280x1024 actually, all settings up to max.
That is the reason.
1024....
Size of the screen he has, big woop.
Size of the screen he has, big woop.
go play everything on max on 1920x1200 and then on 800x600 and prove yourself wrong

Wow. Don't be so ignorant.
