Someones offering me a tower for 600 dollars. Id be using it for film editing. Specs:
CPU core 2 quad q9300
4 gb ram
1 tb hard drive
Geforce 9600 GSO gpu
I can ask for more specs later but yea.
For film editing, yes. Gaming not so much.
Well, if you're editing in full HD with all sorts of post processing effects then you might need more ram.....(Actually it also depends on what editing software you use)....But if not, it should work fine. What computer do you have now?
A LOT more ram. You would want atleast 8gb for serious video editing. Also faster cpu = it will render faster.
Alright thanks. Im using final cut btw. Its a hackintosh
Wouldn't you be able to build a better system for less than that?
I'd say that's a pretty good deal.
Not sure if you guys would agree with me, but I think this would be a better deal - http://secure.newegg.com/WishList/PublicWishDetail.aspx?WishListNumber=10576769
If he needs DX11 features (for DX11 video effects, if they exist (I'm not a video editor)) he could get a cheaper DX11 GPU, and up the processor more.

I don't know if Rosewill makes decent PSUs, but I would suggest that he got this for 6$ more:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371023&cm_re=antec_basiq-_-17-371-023-_-Product

Yes rosewill make very good PSU's.
I would suggest to stick with the Rosewill, not only does it output more watts. It's also has more amps on the 12V rail.

If it's only acceptable, I would still go for the antec, as no high wattage demanding cards will use only one 6-pin connector.

I see. Well on my secondary computer (Which is a Mac), I've never had Final Cut use more than 3GB of ram. So that computer should do fine. As for the price, I say it's pretty good, if you don't know how to build your own computers...
For $600, that's pretty poor. It would be better to build it yourself.
For film editing I think it would be possible to get an LGA 1156 i7 build with a microATX board with integrated graphics for under $600. I'll try to put something together.

Okay maybe not, but still, you can get a much more powerful computer than that for $600

1156's integrated graphics are on the CPU
only works if you have an i3 or dual core i5 in a H55 mobo
