I'm unsure about the megabox thing lets wait and see
I don't think Mega will take off as popular as MegaUpload was, everyones gotten used to not having it around.
Megaupload was literally an uploading site that was only popular because it wasn't as utterly shite as rapidshare; that said I do appreciate this guy's tenacity in an environment where these file lockers are closing up faster than british pubs because of the precedent set by megaupload's closure.
the file encryption he will introduce for uploaded files is a great idea, but i wonder how they handle the decryption, is it done on the server prior to downloading? or something?

No idea if you'd need a stand-alone app for larger files.
Minority Report, folks. PreCrime is here. You don't even have to be open for business or host any files to be a 'cyber criminal' who violates 'intellectual property rights.' Once you're accused by the US government, you're done for, worldwide. But seriously, the me.ga domain was set to fail. If the Gabonese government hadn't intervened, Vivendi, who owns Maroc Telecom, who owns the Gabonese company that operates the .ga TLD would have pulled the plug on me.ga anyway. It is obvious now that Dotcom will have his domain names suspended almost anywhere in the world, because of corporate America's long arm. Even if he bought megaupload.ir the American government would simply wipe it out from the root DNS record. That in itself would set a dangerous precedent, but I'm sure they'd still do it just to prove their point. Domain names now represent single points of failure and Dotcom cannot afford to ignore this anymore, if he really wants to resurrect Megaupload. This could be technically circumvented by forcing users to download an app that uses the UDT based file transfer protocol with NAT traversal to connect to servers using IP numbers, not domain names. But then, again, VISA and Mastercard and PayPal could choose to stop doing business with all entities connected to Dotcom and his business, like they did with Wikileaks. He would be really fucked, then.

The hell is a Gabon?
