Inspired by the BeOS, Haiku is fast, simple to use, easy to learn and yet very powerful." I'm trying this OS in it's 3rd alpha stage on a VM. It may lack a Flash Player & Some other features, but It's very powerful. If you download the VM version of Haiku it doesn't come with a sound driver, you'll have to download the OSS (Open Sound System) for Haiku seperately from Google. The OS comes with basic Applications like a Text Editor, Media Converter, Web Browser, and Media Player which can play almost any format. Not only that, It comes with the Original BeOS demonstration Applications. This is in Linux because Haiku/BeOS is basically UNIX-Like. Here's a little screenshot with the "Office Cam": The Website: https://www.haiku-os.org/
Wasn't BeOS originally an Amiga clone or am I thinking of something else? I guess I was thinking of Aros, my bad :v:
This is pretty late dude, I've been watching this for 2 years.
I gave it a go a while ago, couldn't get networking to work inside of a VM and I couldn't do it for real since it can't connect to WPA. It has potential though, if it goes into beta or another alpha I'll give it another go.

not linux, or even unix-like
not linux, or even unix-like
Yes, but most non-mainstream operating system threads get shoved in here. It's nothing new.
they should be going in h&s-gd though
If it were in h&s the whole thread would be:
wtf is this shit. can it run crysis? this isn't windows lmao
Haiku still looks like it's from the late 90's. :/
