Nice idea but it could offer over or under-fair advantages to people with hyperhidrosis or similar sweating problems.
Fat people forever listening to music.
I say this as a fat guy before you go ballistic.

The article clearly says it would have used other factors, such as heart rate and muscle movement, and not just sweat.
Only thing this would be good for is implementing something that would cool your hands , that would be awesome
I think it would be really cool if guns in FPS games lost a little accuracy when the player moved their hands around a lot or something along those lines.

didn't gaben talk about biometric controls? whatever happened to that.[/QUOTE]
They couldn't get it to be 'marketable' or even remotely cheap for consumers.

I've had a Logitech chillxstream (or w/e it was called) and they're absolutely amazing.
I used that and some xbox 360 controllers for my PC, and there was just no turning back once that fan started cooling your hands.
It'd be amazing if they did this. Even a tiny fan would be plenty.
it should administer an electric shock and play a sound clip that goes "STOP GETTING YOUR GREASY HANDS ON MY CONTROLLER YOU FUCK"
i need this

That could be somewhat useful, my hands often get a bit sweaty when i use the ps3 controller for some reason. It's a bit annoying.
I get Hyperhidrosis in my palms all the time and my controller is usually soaking after a playthrough. I'm glad this was scrapped.
