I'm using all 3 of my motherboards fan plugins, how do I get more? Do I need a PCI card or something?
I'm guessing you need a fan controller
Yes! That's it. Thanks. Anything I should know when looking for one?
I don't know much about them so I'll let someone else answer
Well, my heatsink has 2 fans on it, is there any way I could use 2 fans on the one CPU fan connector, reliably ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835118217 but with 2 fan outputs?)? I really only need one more fan slot and it's taking up two right now.
just get a 5.25'' one that has multiple channels
[img_thumb]http://www.shopit.ie/images/TX3SPLIT12_Blarge.jpg[/img_thumb]
That won't make them both run at 1/2 speed? Am I dumb for thinking that?
That won't make them both run at 1/2 speed? Am I dumb for thinking that?
Nope. There's enough current. I've wired 5 fans to a single connector before, all runs at its designated speed at 12v.
Can I just modify a 4 pin power cable to run fans? If I spliced it onto the fan connector. I have some extra PC fans I've salvaged from stuff without standard connectors anyways. Or, if I spliced two fans together, it would do the same thing? I have solder and shrink tube, so I can do it properly. So, they use 12v? [editline]16th December 2010[/editline] But splicing the two fans together to the same fan would work?
I say get a fan controller instead. Anyone will do. http://www.newegg.com/Store/SubCategory.aspx?SubCategory=11&name=Controller-Panels&Order=PRICE
$8.00 and waiting vs free instantly
Yes.
that's really helpful huh
that's really helpful huh
Yes.
Just spliced wires together and stuff, everything is working fine. CPU temp idles at 36 degrees :D. [editline]16th December 2010[/editline] It's a 32 degrees ATM.
