I really don't know about this.
At one side it's kinda "pay for win" but then again.. You never really win in such games? And the gear is standard which means you can't do anything in PVP

Hasn't this game been out for almost ten years now? At this point, I don't think a little bit of "Pay2Win" is going to matter. It's probably just to appeal to those mega hardcore long-term fans who are sick of grinding low-level content. And 3500 SC for it is pretty reasonable, at least compared to their Planetside 2 prices.
