It was a great game while it lasted, until those unbalanced unlocks came along. I didn't mind grinding for classes too much, but the company in charge seriously screwed the game over with their bad business practices.
the shazbot that goes twice as fast, lives half as long
What was the name of that spiritual sequel?
What was the name of that spiritual sequel?
There was legions, then legions overdrive, now i think its midair?
Didn't the devs try to breathe life into the game a few months back? I take it that it didn't work?
the shazbot that goes twice as fast, lives half as long
Quite an experience isn't it? That's what it feels to have your game ruined. I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Plasma bombers on fire above the surface of Mars in Robocraft. I watched giant dicks glitter in the fog of Ace of Spades. All those moments lost in time... Like tears in rain.
has anyone made any effort towards private servers?
Didn't the devs try to breathe life into the game a few months back? I take it that it didn't work?
They were able to update the game a few times do to Smite's success. The article is about how T:A is receiving its actual final update.
Lest we forget I'm glad to see this game updated not just because it's an excellent game, but the fact that it wasn't really profitable shows a mark of genuine passion for the industry and this game in particular. Gives me hope.

I don't get it, are they just stopping updating the game or are they shutting down the servers? I mean, the article seems to indicate that they're doing now what they wanted to do before, which is to leave the game in a decent state before moving on so that people can always come back to it if they want, nothing about the game actually ending.
Yeah, the article is a bit misleading. The servers are not going down, the game is just having its last major update.
Considering nobody really thought it was going to be updated again last time, I wouldn't count it out yet.
I thought the update last year meant they were going to support it again. Did they not really happen between that update and this one?
I thought the update last year meant they were going to support it again. Did they not really happen between that update and this one?
After Smite made them more money, their goal was to update Tribes to leave it in a more acceptable state before they finally leave it be. There main goal wasn't to make money off of it, but to make the community less upset over what happened. Who knows though? Maybe if Paladins is successful, they'll update it more. But for now, they're done with Tribes.

They tried to make it profitable but failed to do so, they even came back and tried again this most recent time. I think the game's payment model was a disaster from the start though, and the decision to not have custom matches, bots, etc basically made it a nightmare for casual players. The whole way they approached the game was borderline retarded

But yeah, I agree. Tribes' model wasn't good and way too grindy while also missing some important features. Thankfully, they learned from their mistakes and made Smite one of the most generous F2P games out there, with Paladins seemingly follow suit.
Yeah, the article is a bit misleading. The servers are not going down, the game is just having its last major update.
This is misleading as fuck. If people read this thinking the game got shutdown, they won't even give the game a chance
This is misleading as fuck. If people read this thinking the game got shutdown, they won't even give the game a chance
Also it isn't the last big update because they don't want to keep on maintaining the game, but because the lead Tribes guy doesn't work for Hi-Rez anymore. Hell, there might actually still release more big updates if they find a fitting replacement. But hey, sensationalistic headlines sell.
game is now standalone and lacks flash requirement job well done
