I decided to go with a SDD as a boot drive instead of a Spinpoint F3, as prices are still sky high atm. Budget is $120 max. Newegg preferable, and try and get the best price/performance ratio with the aforementioned budget. I'll be needing around 60 GB, more is better, since it'll be the ONLY drive I'll have in the system until I wait 2-4 more weeks for a HDD. Edit: Here's the board I'll be going with too ( if it helps at all.) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131770 BTW: If possible, make sure its SATA III, not II. ty. What does 10,000 IOPS mean? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227755
IOPS = Input/Output Operations Per Second [editline]11th November 2011[/editline] Go with something like a Crucial M4 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820148441 Or an OCZ Agility3 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227725
Thanks, gonna go with the Agility3. Hopefully, the F3's price will drop before I fill up the 60Gb...

then I guess after getting the Agility3, I'll save up for another SSD, this time probs a 120GB or more.. Can you put 2 SSD's in a Raid0 setup like HDDs? Or I'll just get a WD Caviar Black.. depends on if I'll get into intense video editing right off the bat.
Yes you can raid any storage devices.
Raid'ing SSD's offers minimal performance improvements, though.
well, I guess I'll go with a 500GB 7200 RPM HDD then. I like the idea of an SDD as a boot drive, but not so much as it being as storage drive for frag clips... 560GB of storage space should be more than enough.. I haven't even used 250 GB of my 500GB HDD in my laptop.. Time to browse newegg again.. Edit: Nvm, all the HDDs are so similar in price atm, there's no point in searching for now.. sigh.. dam floods
