Post who you think is the best guitarist ever.
My Favorite: Dave Mustaine
Randy Rhoads and Jimi Hendrix (can't just say one)
My favorite is Will Ackerman. Doubt you folks would've heard of him, but he's great.
Myself.
Hendrix. No doubt.
I don't know.
I think all the true titans of guitar were the best in their own respect.
If I was forced to choose, I guess I'd go with Stevie Ray Vaughan.
Yngwie.
Greatest :downs:
while I have to agree with in that MegaDave is the a fucking excellent guitarist, he is not a lead guitarist but rather an amazing rhythm guitar player, riffs just pop out of nowhere for him. I know this seems like a fanboy typical fanboy post so I will put him in second place just behind Jimmy Page, and in third Tommy Iommi.
None, I'd have a list of at least 30 in 1st place. But I'd say that Dave Mustaine and Jimi Hendrix are pretty cool.
Engineer
Marty Friedman
Brad Barr
Marty mcfly :downs:
I can't actually choose one, but Jimmy Hendrix is "pretty good."
I say either Jason Becker or Yngwie Malmsteen.
Or my late father, who could play like Becker and Malmsteed had a lovechild together.
Angus Young
eddie van halen

AND HE KNOWS KARATE
For writing the best riffs it has to be James Hetfield. For technicality it's either Yngwie or michaelangelo batio.
Batio for technicality, without a doubt.
Mustaine for being able to sing and do lead
James hetfield for riffs
norifumi shima for evolving everything yngwie has ever done
Andy Mckee.
It takes an extraordinary amount of talent to do something like this:

So the best guitarist is a man who doesn't play the instrument in a traditional way? That seems a bit unfair imo.
John Bonham :downs:
I don't really know who I'd call the greatest. But John Butler is very talented. Some beautiful music.
Randy Rhoads
Jerry only?
Dick Dale
in before john lennon
Steve Vai
Adam Jones
Definitely Robert Fripp
