So if I use the speaker wire terminals on a powered sub woofer, and plug it into the wall using its power cord, am I risking over-powering it?
I mean there's the un-amplified line-level inputs like LFE and stereo RCA, but if I run speaker wire from a 100w/ch amp to this sub woofer do I still plug it into the wall? like is it already getting the juice it needs from the external amp that feeds it speaker wire?

Try running it without plugging it in the wall, see if it's powered. If that doesn't work, put on your science-goggles and plug it in.
