• GPU's PCI bracket not aligning with case

Hey, I've been putting my new computer together over the weekend, and I hit a problem. [t]http://i.imgur.com/WW8qe.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/0PHzh.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/CMK95.jpg[/t] When I try to put the graphics card in, it's not going flush with the rear panel of my case. The card stays aligned until it's snapped into the socket, then it tilts to the right. I've tried pushing the card closer toward the edge, but it requires too much force and snaps back to being tilted. The card also won't go into the PCI slot any further. Here's some relevant specs: Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z68XP-UD5 GPU: MSI N570GTX Twin Frozr III PE/OC Edition Case: Cooler Master HAF X I've also tried using my old 8800GT, and the problem still persists. I'd greatly appreciate any help! Tell me if you need any more pictures, I'll try to get them.
You probably mounted the board wrong. Did you use standoffs for the motherboard, and is the motherboard centered on the standoff screw holes?
You probably mounted the board wrong. Did you use standoffs for the motherboard, and is the motherboard centered on the standoff screw holes?
I used the standoffs that came with the case, as the motherboard didn't come with any. The motherboard wasn't perfectly centered when I first put it in, and as far as I know it's centered after I repositioned it. I will try taking the motherboard out and repositioning it again if I have to, but some of the screws got striped the first time so I'll have to be really careful with the replacement screws.
Was that a cheap case or something? Because it looks like really thin and cheap metal from those pictures. It could be that they made the slots too high or the mounts too short.

It could be that they made the slots too high or the mounts too short.
Well, the price wasn't very cheap, the side panels have some fairly thick metal but the PCI brackets are pretty thin. I can even bend the metal to attempt to screw it in (I wouldn't risk it, though.) I've taken the motherboard off and I'm currently trying to replace some of the standoffs. The ones closest to the PCI brackets don't want to come out, though. After I took the motherboard out, I noticed the rear I/O backplate wasn't snapped in all the way. Perhaps that could have caused some problem? Once I get the motherboard back inside the case I'll see if that was the problem. [editline]A[/editline] It appears that the standoffs or backplate holes are stripped and won't tighten very much. I've read to get Loctite to secure it into place, so I'm going to get that and see how it goes. Thanks for all the help so far, by the way.
Sounds like you got ripped off. I'd take the case back and get a refund. Only really cheap metal strips out that easily, unless you used excessive force to screw in the mounts.
So I got the standoffs back inside, and I'm 100% certain the motherboard is centered with them. However, the problem is still exactly the same. In fact, I checked some Newegg reviews of the case. There's 665 reviews and only two I can find with this problem, I think I got a miss-manufactured one. A $180 case should not have problems, ever. There's no excuse the manufacturer can make. If they charge that much, they should be able to afford a stringent QA process to never allow a defective case to be sent out of the factory. I'd return it and get a cheaper and better case from someone else.
I had no problems with my HAF X and my GTX 580. You might have just got a fucked up case.
I had no problems with my HAF X and my GTX 580. You might have just got a fucked up case.
Yeah, I'm going to contact Cooler Master tomorrow to see if I can get it replaced.
