I got a new card couple of days ago and I want your opinion on wither or not my CPU is a bottleneck. Card: http://www.futureshop.ca/en-CA/product/bfg-geforce-gtx-260-oc-896mb-gddr3-pci-e-video-card/10126801.aspx?path=40d0536ae1ecd551886e6c4290420353en02 CPU: http://www.directcanada.com/products/?sku=10360BD9824&vpn=ADV6000DOBOX&manufacture=AMD I also have 4gbs of 800mhz ram. Needless to say I have the card and processor overclocked. Cpu is at 3.3ghz about all this thing can do. The ram is somewhere close to 850mhz (not on the pc watching tv with laptop). I don't seem to get very good frame-rates on bad company 2, I'm assuming its because I need more cores here. Cpu usages goes around 100%. My motherboard supports all AMD sockets of late, so upgrading is easy. But I'm out of money after getting the card so I'm just looking for your opinion.
Your CPU is definitely a bottleneck. What's your exact motherboard?
It should bottleneck it too much but it is there also why did you just buy a gtx 260?
I didn't even know they were still sold.
Your whole system would be a bottleneck on that game. People don't know bout my bottleneck skills.

your motherboard is AM3 ready. http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Products/Motherboard/Products_Overview.aspx?ProductID=2887
I'll probably update it before I get a new processor get like an i5 or whatever. [editline]10:06PM[/editline]
your motherboard is AM3 ready. http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Products/Motherboard/Products_Overview.aspx?ProductID=2887
Yeah I know.
why don't you people consult us BEFORE you buy the card
Kinda why I said why my motherboard supports all AMD sockets. [editline]10:12PM[/editline] Because of the BFG upgrade program. I'm sure the new Nvidia cards come out before 100 days, I'll just use the upgrade program.
What do you mean you people?
in general lot's of people come here asking "Is this card compatible with my computer", "Is this a good card", etc after they buy the card
What do you mean you people?
Casue we are black
in general lot's of people come here asking "Is this card compatible with my computer", "Is this a good card", etc after they buy the card
Still not as bad as, say, /g/ can be. To be honest, /g/ is more of a poor man's YOSPOS.
H&S visitors.
Not a visitor just bought a card from a local store because I'm tired of slow ass paypal.
How much did you buy it for?
How much did you buy it for?
Actually not that overpriced $229CAD. Same as this place http://www.directcanada.com/products/?sku=23310BD3629&vpn=BFGEGTX260896OCE&manufacture=BFG%20Technologies . Just was to lazy to wait a week. [editline]10:37PM[/editline] I'm a little disappointed that I bought an OC card but it was the only one they had.

DERP http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814131330&cm_re=5770-_-14-131-330-_-Product $155 CAD
wow that was a waste of money [editline]02:40AM[/editline] this, hell I was just looking up prices and you could have saved $30-40+
It was sorta no way I'm waiting a week for paypal kind of thing and with BFG's trade up program I plan on use this card as a discount off one of Nvidia's new cards, later when they come out like next month. [editline]10:47PM[/editline] I also don't have a way to buy from newegg. But the way I see it the more I pay now the more I get off the new Nvidia card I plan on buying.
That program is a massive scam IMO. For one, if you've done any overclocking to the card, it's ineligible.

They probably won't know, but that's just one thing. There's a limit of 100 days from the date of the card's purchase to when you can trade up - the estimated Fermi release date is some time in May. Add to that the probability that the GTX 400s won't be added to the trade up selection at release, and you might not even be able to do the trade up.
