• How often do you defragment your computer?

Well for me maybe once or twice in my comupters life time. Since most of the time im busy playing games or other stuff outside of the house.
Once a week.
Whenever I can be arsed up to remember before going to bed.
Continually with no overhead via Diskeeper :smugdog: It really is worth buying, especially for Intelliwrite (prevents most fragmentation as writes occur, just like superior filesystems)
Once every 5 years.
2-5 times in a year.
I have Defraggler scheduled to do it every morning at 4AM, while I'm still asleep. This thread reminds me of one job I went to do last year. The people had an old computer from 1998 that had Windows 98 on it. In the 11 years that computer had been existing, it had never been defragmented. Not their fault, they're just average people you know. So I defragmented it for them. That computer got so much faster it wasn't even funny.
Never. NTFS and FAT are the only two filesystems in the world with major fragmentation problems.
Once every month.

I tried defragging months ago, but it was actually filling up space on my hard drive, so I stopped it.

I never defrag, I don't ever feel like it.
On my Windows computers, I just install the Auslogics Defrag Screensaver, and forget about it. :frogc00l: Deal with it.

never. JFS is superior.
About once every 3 weeks for my desktop, once every 3 months for my fileserver.

About.. every day or so.
Never. I probably should.
I can't even remember the last time i did it, but i did reinstall my windows and cleaned my hdds 3 weeks ago.
JKDefrag Screensaver Suck on that :frogc00l:
It's a GNU licensed project. :buddy:
Oh crap, I haven't defrag'd in a long while... Guess I better do it now...
I tried defragging months ago, but it was actually filling up space on my hard drive, so I stopped it.
It's shifting files over. Hard drive space will fluctuate during a defrag.

I don't defrag at all. I just use Disk cleanup instead of Disk Defrag to clear space and speed the 'ol WinXP Pro up
Never...
I never defrag, I don't ever feel like it.
You should, your PC slows down if fragmentation is high.
Not anymore since i once did with a shitty program and it raped my 500GB of stuff and made ne unable to open anything :(
By the time I get to do a defrag, I usually just reinstall anyways.
