How about that, how nice of them. Glad I pre-ordered it.
I'm still trying to decide if I want to get this or not. Max Payne 3 kind of set a new standard for TPS's now... at least for me.
I played the Demo. It was so generic that I couldn't play for more than 10 minutes.

The gunplay seemed about as bad as Uncharted's. Totally forgettable, but it works. I think this is going to be one of those games you play for the story.
Hopefully this trend makes most companies see free DLC isn't dead yet

Pretty much this, though I enjoyed Uncharted.

Sounds like one of those games you don't play at all.

But the story in this game is terrible.

It's literally just Apocalypse Now in Afghanistan with a few other things thrown in.

I didn't realise Dubai is in Afghanistan now.
I didn't realise Dubai is in Afghanistan now.
*Dubai.
Doesn't matter where it is, still the same thing
*Dubai.

Uh. No. It isn't the same thing at all. Dubai and Afghanistan are very different places. Good job rating me dumb for knowing where something is in the world though.

actually, the fact that it's in Dubai seems to affect the gameplay a fair amount. I haven't tried the demo, but everything being made out of glass - glass with lots and lots of sand behind it - will apparently put you and your enemies in some interesting fighting positions.
but that's just stuff that I've heard is going to be a big selling point of the game. but, as far as I know, a totally ruined glass utopia is very different from a load of concrete boxes in a muddy desert. so there's that.

I meant it was the same as in the story was the exact same (As in Apocalpse now, with some strange additions) I was not saying that Afghanistan and Dubai were similar at all.

Apocalypse Now was based on Heart of Darkness.
This game is based (loosely) on the same book. They're obviously keeping elements from Apocalypse Now, however it's not fair to say the game is exactly the same.
Especially when you didn't play 10 minutes into the demo.

Oh, we'll i'm fine with it as long as they say it was based on it.
So now co-op is considered DLC?
I wonder what'll be next, graphics options as DLC?
***HOT AND NEW!!! ENABLE OR DISABLE AMBIENT OCCLUSION AND LENS FLARE FOR ONLY 1.99$***

It's free, you might wanna work on your reading skills a bit.

I know that.
In case you didn't read, I said that more and more things are considered as DLC nowadays.
I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the demo of this game.

The gunplay in Uncharted 2 was amazing :v:

Uhhh, ok?
My point still stands - as time goes on, more stuff is considered as DLC.
I understand when various expansions and campaigns are in DLC form, but when stuff like co-op is considered as DLC (doesn't matter if it's free or not), then who knows what might happen next?

It's called DLC because it's content that you download.
Your attributing it to be some kind of slang term used in the gaming industry.
It's considered DLC because you are downloading it, I don't really see how you could label it something different.
publishers are pushing games out faster than they can make them
this has been happening since forever, now it just means that they can implement features that otherwise would have gone to waste
seriously, watch any behind the scenes videos for games made before the advent of dlc and constant updating
it usually goes like "heres a cool ass feature we were testing but blank made us release and so we waited for blank 2 to implement it"
Well why not implement it in the form of a patch (or just call it a patch)? Why instantly call it DLC? :/
Calling it DLC sounds a bit silly in my opinion, especially if it's free.

In that case, call every patch that adds a new feature DLC.

Technically speaking, you could.
Just tried the demo, liked it.
i don't know why people are bandwagoning
I know the sand sounds like a gimmick but try the demo, if you aren't a sperglord you'll enjoy it

It is a bit of a gimmick. The only part I put it to use was during the first insurgent confrontation and after that it just happened with the [sp]sand covered skylight[/sp]. And I might be missing something about Adams's stun grenades, because that only got used once as well.
2k should have made more noise about Lupo and his amazing green beam of death. And diverted more resources into making Nolan North's buddies smart enough not to charge enemy spawns or try to shoot through solid objects right in front of their guns. They're the strongest part of this game so far, other than the fresh setting and a story that doesn't sound like or pan out like like utter horse balls.
