Still fun, shame this guy is too ~games r srs art~ to have fun.
He seems to go on about bugs however after playing for 3 hours or so I've not experienced a single bug. The only issue with the game I have is that it's got a lack of explanation. Sure there's the intro but that's basically only saying Hitler released the zombies and doesn't explain the situation your character is in, etc.

Well, I don't think they made the game for the story. I think they just made it for the fun of it, and to spice up Sniper Elite. I doubt this game actually has bearing on the story of the Sniper Elite series.
Man, this game about nazi zombie survival involves killing a bunch of zombies who are also nazis! What a gyp!!! WHO COULD HAVE SEEN THIS COMING

I appreciate the lack of a plot, and I think it's intentional. "Nazi zombies are loose. Shoot them all."
So far I like the game, but there's a bug in the second chapter (which was a lot weaker than the first) where me and my friends can't enter the cathedral near the end.

It's like how Red Dead Redemption had one of the most serious stories I've ever seen in a game, and then Undead Nightmare comes along just to have fun.
A lot of people are slamming this game hardcore. We get it, you're tired of zombie games and want to hate literally anything and everything that contains them, good for you. It's not trying to be new or innovative, it's just a zombie arcade shooter type of thing that actually works really well.
Haven't had any bugs or performance issues either. My one complaint about this game is even on minimal the X-Ray camera shows itself off with literally every long-range shot you take while scoped with your primary weapon. Not sure if that option is bugged or not but it gets really annoying having to use Ctrl to zoom-without-scope just to get peace and quiet with the x-ray cam. Sadly you lose a ton of accuracy that way.
I just reached the third level and I'm having lots of fun even in Singleplayer. Well worth the 15 bucks.
I don't see the issue with this, they're not trying to be innovative or different, they're trying to be fun and from what I can see - they've achieved that. A goofy fun game for fun and giggles.

Hell I didn't even know people hated it so much.

They buy a coop game for the single player and somehow they're surprised that a coop game isn't built around single player. Borderlands 1 and 2 got a lot of similar hate for the same reason.
I never really got why they couldn't just buy a second copy for a friend and have a blast, but whatever it's their decision.
Stop having fun you guys
Beginning with a cutscene showing a beleaguered Hitler being told his war effort is lost, we see the tiny-moustached monster shoot the officer in the head, and then declare that “Plan Z” must be launched. Then the game starts, and you’re half-informed that you are one of very few people left alive in Germany, the rest being zombies.
And the problem is? That sounds like a pretty fucking rad setup IMO.
I'd rather there be a swift and unexplained setup than a prolonged, drawn out storyline that you have to sit through in the beginning, especially when it comes to something as simple as this.
The guy who wrote the review must hate Wolfenstein or Doom. They have throwaway plots too.

You can turn the killcams off, or set to lower frequency iirc. I saw a screen shot of that section of the settings.

I did, it's on minimal. Still happens at literally every long-range kill with my primary weapon which leads me to believe the option is broken.
No option to disable it entirely either.
How well will this run on a Gt 620?
Looks pretty sweet, but I don't wanna blow cash on it if it won't run well

A lot of people had performance issues, however I managed to solve mine by disabling super sampling (AMD Radeon HD 6950). Ran smooth as silk after that.

I have a 560ti, and I don't have a problem running this.
Also the dude who wrote the article is an idiot. Reminds me of the Kings Bounty: Warriors of the north review I saw once where the writer went. "This game is bad, don't buy it. Because I don't like vikings."
John Walker is a fucking idiot. I hate this fuckin guy. Never listen to anything this guy says.
That the apocalyptic scale of the Nazi atrocities are still within living memory tends to give both good and bad reasons for fantastical reimagining of the events. is he serious
Usually I kind of agree with totalbiscuit but this time around he's nitpicking for the sake of nitpicking.
Totalbiscut isn't a writer for RPS...
After playing it I kind of agree with the article. They've taken the fun bit of Sniper Elite out (the sneaking around and actually sniping people), and replaced it with generic gun down waves of zombies gameplay.
Reminds me of the Kings Bounty: Warriors of the north review I saw once where the writer went. "This game is bad, don't buy it. Because I don't like vikings."
How is "don't buy it, it's a shallow game that gets repetitive after a very short time, relies too much on a gimmicky killcam system, and contains very little actual sniping" the same as "I don't like vikings"
Seems like half the people here stopped reading at the first paragraph of the review.

He made a video about this in which he spent 20 minutes complaining about shit and then got his comment flagged because he called everyone that criticized him "Butthurt children"
[editline]5th March 2013[/editline]
and of course his fans do what they always do
a grand total of 64 people voted on metacritic..64. 27 were user reviews. Lets compare how many people liked this video completely trashing this monotonous bullshit game to the number of people that have made a positive rating of it.
27 metacritic, 13 ign, 1 gamestop, 31 gamespot, 7 gamefaqs... so lets total that up
79 total user reviews over 5 gaming review websites VS 6,343 likes on this video. Again his opinion is shared by the MAJORITY. Stop taking every review number you see as* fact.
Lol

like pure dog doodoo
Doesn't really seem worth the money, looks like it'd get repetitive really quickly.
Well it's basically an arcade shooter type of game, so yeah it's definitely repetitive. :v:
If you like that kind of thing though it's awesome.
