Budget: Max of £1,300 Games: I dunno, a variety of shit on Steam. I want to future-proof this new machine as much as possible. Native Resolution Of Monitor: 1600x900 Extras: A 500GB external hard drive, although that should be easy to find. Where I live: South England, near Eastleigh. I'll get 1 or 2 TB for the Hard Drive space.
Why a pre-built? You're not going to get as much performance.
Why a pre-built? You're not going to get as much performance.
I agree with this. You can have a friend put it together for you even.
Why a pre-built? You're not going to get as much performance.
I don't know anyone who could put it together, and I sure as shit don't trust myself with anything delicate. Besides, I need someone to blame if it breaks.
Something I'd suggest to that is see if there are any shops in the area that will put together parts if you bring them to them. It's usually pretty affordable, and you know the parts you're getting are quality.
Assuming your flag is correct www.scan.co.uk have some cool prebuilts, I haven't looked into them enough to be 100% sure on value etc etc - but I don't really know any other UK place i'd trust, they usually have pretty decent prices too http://www.scan.co.uk/3xs/custom/professional-gaming-pc/ - fairly sure they let you customize them or make your own custom-prebuilt too if you want more control
They're not that bad. I'd go with this and grab an external drive as well.
Thank you both for the help. I'm very grateful.
Honestly, it's not hard. It essentially like putting together a puzzle. Tons of guides on the Youtubes and around the net.Hell, even if you get stuck, you can always ask here. I'm sure there are tons of people who'd be willing to help. But, if you want a prebuilt, I'd at least look in to places like ibuypower.

If that's your budget, getting a pre built is technological suicide.
If that's your budget, getting a pre built is technological suicide.
Thanks for the helpful reply.
Thanks for the helpful reply.
He should have explained why. But prebuilt PCs usually go very cheap on parts such as the PSU and motherboard. It's also very poor value, you can get a much better PC for cheaper. Even if you find a computer shop and have them assemble it for you you'll likely still get a better deal than a prebuilt, since it should only cost about a half hour to an hour of labor. But if you're dead-set, there are some that are alright. But I don't know about prices in the UK so something within your budget here might be way above it in the UK.
Digital Storm makes quality prebuilts, but they charge almost double on some builds
Thanks for the helpful reply.
No need to be a passive agressive fuck. Prebuilts usually come with cheap, outdated, overpriced or just barely compatible components. If you look at the specs of any prebuilt and rebuild it on a site you'd shave off at least half the price
That scanuk actually has semi-reasonable prices, far more than anything like ibuypower. If you really don't want to build their own, I'd 100% recommend that.
Yeah, I'm gonna go with ScanUK. Thanks.
