My historical inaccuracy senses are tingling after seeing that Katyusha.
But then my "Oh holy fuck I need this" senses pulled those to the ground and summarily beat the shit out of them.
Looks like they're going to feature a larger variety of weapons than they did in COH1.
Please just take my money

What was so inaccurate about the Katyusha?
My jaw steadily dropped throughout this trailer. Holy shit, I want this game!

Well they each fired like 3 rockets instead of 24 and one was parked directly behind the other, would have made for some hilarious black blast fires assuming it was real.
Thankfully I don't look for realism in CoH I realize its arcady but I still love it
[editline]30th November 2012[/editline]
Also, the graphics looks... the same? I'll most likely still end up buying it but the game doesn't look different from the original CoH at all

dat ridiculous rate of fire

That was absolutely horrifying. I had no idea it fired that many rockets that fast.
Micromanagement looks like it'd be fun as fuck.
Start a skirmish match, put bots on your team, and use one tank or one squad and just do as much as you can with them. Fun as hell.
Heh, that panzerschreck at 0:24 made the desert eagle fire sound from Soldier of Fortune 1 and 2
What was so inaccurate about the Katyusha?
It sounded like the Nebelwerfer.

Which is a German artillery piece.

They all sound alike. They are rockets.
They all sound alike. They are rockets.
No, definitely not. That said these two do sound quite alike.
They all sound alike. They are rockets.
No, the Nebelwerfer has a very distinctive sound.
Just watched a video of what Katyusha's sound like.
God I feel stupid.

It's a game not a simulation.
balance before realism.
I hope THQ pulls through with they're recent financial issues and come out big.
It's a shame they don't seem to have touched the graphics much, especially for a PC title

To be honest, COH has some of the best graphical detail for an RTS already.

World in Conflict has better, and came out 1 year later.
Less well known, Faces of War also came out the same year as CoH, and has slightly better graphics (and a hell of a more interesting physics engine IMO).
Most historical inaccuracies I find in the trailer and in game are range and damage, which unfortunately due to the small mapsizes and distances found in game, need to be balanced as such.

At least the howitzer crewman actually loaded a shell in instead of just loading it up with air like in CoH.
I really like COH but what's really turning me off is that the troops on both sides are speaking english :/

There will probably be a mod that remedies that. There is a mod that does that for the Germans in the original after all
Sinking KV-1's made me sad.

I hope there will be a mod, or at least I can hope that the game will allow players to toggle native languages on/off. I think what the eastern front mod did was take Russian audio from the original COH and replace it for soviet units.
Although my main point is I honestly don't see why they have to speak English. In Red Orchestra 2, their devs did the same thing for the reason "because we want players to understand their teammates". That just doesn't apply to any game, especially this. If I'm playing, I want to have the feeling that I am immersing myself into the game. These are Russians and these are Germans. What good reason is there for them to speak English?
Yeah, I really get immersed when my entire army is a talking punstorm. I'd rather they speak english with their respective accents, I don't think CoH takes itself that much serious, and you just have to listen to what the soldiers actually say to figure that out.
The only thing that would happen is you not getting any puns and missing part of what made CoH lovable. CoH has never been about absolute realism.

WiC has a vastly worse physics engine - and that by far. Which was one of the main draws of coh, and probably will be in coh 2 as well. Coh also had better animation and voice acting (kinda the hallmarks of a relic game I guess)

Yeah, and people actually had fingers in COH.

I'm glad they later added option to choose English or native voices. I hated to start searching that fucking language folder whenever patch came out.
I'm fine with everyone speaking English, I just hope the voice acting is as good as CoH:
