Hi, so I have a decent setup at the moment but I would love to add another gpu. Will I have enough power if I don't keep my CPU at 4.2ghz?
i5 3570k 3.2Ghz
Sapphire 7950 3GB
8GB DDR3 1600Mhz
128GB SSD
1TB HDD
Cooler Master 650w 80 plus Bronze
7950cf will use AT MOST 350w. So i think you'd be okay.
The 7950 uses two 6-pin PCI-E connectors, and from what I can gather, your PSU only has two. You won't be able to do CF without buying a molex to PCI-E power connector. And I wouldn't really recommend that, they're often pretty skimpy.
It does come with one, I am tempted to just go with it for a while then upgrade.

You'd need two, though. I'll recommend waiting for the new 8*** series.
Both graphics cards come with two adapters, so now he'd have four. He's fine on the adapters.

That's not the point GoDong was making. The psu JakeAM has (Cooler Master GX650) only has 2 PCI-E slots for the gpu. Unless he decides to use molexes, he may as well hold off until the 8xxx cards come out.
Anyways, I would overclock the 7950 and get as much performance out of it as you can. It's still one of the better cards on the market and crossfire is about as annoying as it is beneficial. I'd wait on getting an 8xxx card personally.
Crossfire works fine. If he can get a reasonably priced 7950 with black friday deals, I would do it.

I don't think your getting what people are saying (I haven't actually double checked what they said but I assume they're right) They're are saying there is NOT enough power cables for the second card. Its nothing to do with the crossfire cables. Its the power cables that plug into the graphics cards from the power supply, the power supply doesn't have enough of them.
QuikKill was referencing Evilan saying that Crossfire was problematic.

Hes also still saying buy another card, without buying a new psu.
Molex connectors are okay to use.
Thank you.
I personally wouldn't use molex to 6-pin connectors too much, both because it doesn't sit very well with me (not that that should have any effect on you), and then because dragging molex cables around makes for a less than optimal cable management.
And after a little check, your PSU (assuming it's a GX650 though you never quite specified it) only has 3 molex connectors, while you'd need a total of 4 to use two molex to 6-pin converters. So yeah, I wouldn't recommend it, and I don't think it's even possible without some tinkering.
I have a single molex to 6 pin, I think only the 6+2 pin adapters need two molex.

I've only encountered ones using two molex' connectors, though I guess it's possible if you splice some of the cables.
