So I recently restored my computer to factory settings using "Alienware Respawn" and asked it to create a backup of what was on the HD. Well I'm done copying over what I wanted. But now I can't delete the backup.
Apparently some files in the backup, I don't have permission to delete. I am running as administrator. I've gone into properties to add myself to the permission list, but the 'Add' button is greyed out.
The backup is taking up 100gb on my HD, and I want to remove it.
Welly our first mistake was buyin an alienware.
And you should try to remove it via alienware or safemode.
If that doesnt work there are still some programms that will delite annything.

Bad spelling.
Also, i've been trying to figure this out too, my friend's alienware has a back up of over 500gb~ and he cannot delete it.
Screw alienware.
It wasn't my idea to get it. My dad bought 2 on a whim. He only did because they had a monthly payment option. He knows its cheaper to build one, but he wanted a new one right away.

Monthly payment....
Did any of my suggestions work?

This is related, now I'm getting permission issues outside of the backup folder, I'm trying to rename a game folder in program files, I hit yes to the security UAC pop-up, but it just says Try again.

Checked under User Account options, I am set to Administrator, and I'm the only account on this computer.
control panel -> user accounts -> UAC settings and change it to the lowest level.
if that doesnt work, the alienware program might be protecting the files, so reboot into safemode and delete it then
after you have deleted it change your UAC back up to what it was previously
I found a bigger problem, for somereason windows is using the bootmgr file in the backup folder

Actually I think it's reading the backup folder as the main folder because for somereason windows live mail is using the appdata folder in it

Fuck it doing a complete wipe, everything I need is on my external hard drive
I did a complete wipe but two files were not deleted, they're in the securerom folder... And they have have a garbled mess of names

I deleted them with the 'del' command in command prompt
