It's come to the time where I'm once again lost for ideas. I've recently been playing RPG's, such as Torchlight(1+2) Diablo(1,2,3), Fallout (2,3) and Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition.
I've also been playing horrors, (Condemned, all of the dooms, Alan Wake, The Suffering, Amnesia, Penumbra, etc)
Most RPG's that appeal to me are the endgame content (always want to replay without it getting dull from time to time) and the skill, loot and leveling system.
I was wondering if anybody had any suggestions for any Horror or RPG games? Bare in mind I'm playing on a laptop, hence why most of the games listed aren't too "top notch".
Thanks
Roguelikes are fun, and the levels and items are randomly generated, plus most of them are multi-platform, due to their difficulty, winning them is extremely rewarding, some of my favorites are Doom the Roguelike, Dungeons of Dredmor (well worth the money to buy it and it's DLC on Steam), and Nethack/Slash 'Em/Unnethack, but there are many other excellent games in the genre that could still be considered an RPG (because while The Binding of Isaac has a stat system you can't see those stats, plus it's a top-down dungeon crawling shooter.
I know this may be not what you're looking for but check out Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines. It's awesome, really grim, dark and even scary at points.
I've played Dungeons of Dredmor, didn't really enjoy it as there was too much going on at the same time
That's true, you won't have that problem with most Roguelikes though, btw If you want a good horror roguelike game Aliens: the Roguelike is pretty damn scary for a game whose graphics consist entirely of text.
I've been playing some modded Shadow of Chernobyl / Call of Pripyat lately and though the game doesn't offer too much in terms of levelling and numbers, you start out with crappy gear and gradually pick up / buy better gear as you go, spending your money on repairing shit and buying ammo / food / medkits / etc. Really good if you liked Fallout 3.
Also, some of the levels in it (underground labs) made my lifespan about a year shorter.
Play Fallout 1, too :v: It's got a different atmosphere to 2, and can definitely get horror-y at times. Nails that desolate loneliness feeling very well.
Oh, yeah, and play New Vegas as well. It owns
You might also like a little game called NEO Scavenger.
Cry of Fear is fun, and it's pretty terrifying.

This looks very promising.

reminds me of the S.U.R.V.I.V.O.R. game that some facepunchers are making (minus the spooky ghouls)
F.E.A.R. has some good horror and action.
if you're into the Diablo series, check out Path of Exile. an amazing ARPG that has so many features yet still in beta.
the endgame content is still being worked out, but what they have so far is pretty good.
