Hi,
So recently (about 2 weeks ago) I started getting poor performance out of simple 2d games, but now everything that uses 3D (aside from Unity Web Player) has a really horrible performance (10 FPS at most).
Here are my specs :
Intel Core i5-3570K @ 3.4 GHz
16 GB Corsair RAM
ASUS B75-M LX
MSI GTX 660 OC (Non Twin-Froz)
Hitachi HDD 1TB
Asus Xonar DS
Note that it only does that IN Google Chrome, other 3D games like Mirror's Edge, Payday and all that work just fine.
The only extension that I have installed and enabled is AdBlock
How do I fix this problem ?
EDIT : Google Chrome is at 10 to 20% CPU when browsing webpages, and all the way up to 95% when playing a 3D game.
EDIT 2 : After some research, it appears that it's the sub-process "GPU" in chrome that skyrockets my CPU usage when in 3D games. "GPU" is also known as WebGL
I tried creating an empty WebGL canvas and my CPU was at 25% usage for this very canvas, and I was getting at most 30 FPS.
Also note that I tried running the empty canvas, and the 3D Web GL games in Mozilla Firefox, and it works well in there.
Google Chrome gets updated a lot, although some updates cause problems. You can tweak some things to do with the GPU and acceleration if you put chrome://flags/ into the address bar
I already went there and I believe that hardware acceleration is already activated.
It's most likely just a bug in an update if it only happened recently. It should fix in one of the next updates. If you really want it fixing now you could try the beta branch
Well yeah I would like to fix it now since i'm using quite a lot of WebGL applications and games right now.
How could I install a BETA version of Chrome ? I've been looking in the parameters and in their website but no hints about that.

Nevermind found it, I installed it, restarted Chrome, and it still does that.
Okay, I managed to fix it, it was because my graphics drivers were barely outdated.
Chrome somehow managed to release a ninja update to break WebGL for this very version of the drivers I had, glad I got it fixed.
Thank you very much for all your help djikxbox360, I appreciate it.
