Well, the article has one of the devs saying that the Dorfs are the easiest due to their tanky nature making for good defensive play.

Defensive play aka non-play lol
From what we have seen of the supposed starting positions, The Empire will start in control of Reikland only, with the rest of the Empire being ruled by "Elector Counts", and open for you to conquer. This means that all factions will probably start small, and then take turns chipping away at the various states of the Empire.
This could potentially mean that the endgame will consist of a lot of camping. And in that case, from a Lore point of view, the Orcs/Goblins will continually besiege the Dwarfs and lose, while the Skellingtons will remain in their castles, harassing the border provinces to death, while the Empire will spam great cannons and bombard everything to pieces.
But that is just my thought.

aka unplayable on legendary because legendary is all about aggression and attack attack attack
