• How to connect "Speaker wire" speakers to computer? What will I need?

Hello. Recently at a yard sale, I found a set of nice speakers. Their pretty big too. They run off a Two wire "Speaker wire" setup. I would like to connect these to my commputer to use one as left, and one as right. What components do I need for this? How much should it run me? Links to some suggested components? Thanks for helping
Can you find a picture or take one of what you mean by 'Two wire "Speaker wire"'?
You'll need a small amplifier of some sort, and a headphone to RCA cable to connect your computer to the amp.
Surely it's just a case of wiring the two speaker wires to a standard stereo headphone jack

Oh and I am just uploading the pics i got. These things are HUGE [editline]03:42PM[/editline] Size compared to a pencil. Only thing I could find that most people knew the height of.
You need an amp. Like a stereo.
You need an amp. Like a stereo.[/QUuote] Oh shit. I know how to do this. I actually have a stero that can be used with an Audio input. If anyone would like to find me a link to a decently priced amplifier, I am all ears.
Stereos have them built in.
I know. I worded that wrong. This is only a temp fix. I would like to get a permanent one. Where can I buy one of the amps I wire up?
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16882180022&cm_re=stereo-_-82-180-022-_-Product Probably cheaper ones but idk where to look.
I'd check thrift stores for old stereos with RCA jacks.
Computer > HiFi Stereo or Amp > Two-wire Speakers [editline]01:43PM[/editline]
I'd check thrift stores for old stereos with RCA jacks.
This guy is right-on. Good Will sells those old crusty (reliable) things for about $7.00
You could also make it yourself - just need a headphone jack and 2 composite plugs. That's what I did.
