Well, just a couple minutes ago, I was just watching a video on YouTube and automatically the sound went shit. I checked my headphones, even switched to some other pairs, and nothing is wrong with them, then I checked the Playback Devices and Audio Mixer, nothing wrong there.
I restored my computer to an earlier restore point, still having sound problems, I didn't do or provoke or tamper with anything to make this happen. It just happened all of a sudden
I'm on Windows 7 if that's any help.

Oh, I forgot to mention the sound is also a bit "scratchy"
Humor me for a second and try plugging in your sound cable half way.

So if the Onboard Audio is kaput, what's the best thing to do?
Just get a generic sound card if you dont use 7.1 surround.

I can vouch for this card. Its very good. I haven't had any problems with it and the sound quality over on-board is insane.

If so I just gave up on it and came back like an hour later and it was fixed. Try unplugging and plugging in your headphones if you haven't.
