I'm not sure that I care for Mojang anymore. When the dispute actually happened, it was a different story. But now that they've kind of lowered there quality standards, I really don't know.
Nonetheless, I'm still glad they ended it.
glad that's over, the whole thing was really silly
Not many are aware that ZeniMax sued in the first place because Mojang actually tried to copyright "Scrolls", not just because they used the name.

Minecraft went uphill after Jeb took over in my opinion.
Wait the lawsuit was seriously because people could get it mixed with elder scrolls? I thought it was a defencive lawsuit because if Mojang owned the trademark "Scrolls" they'd be able to send a lawsuit against "The Elder Scrolls".
If Mojang didn't make such ridiculous YouTube videos I'd like them more.
Im suprised, so its ZeniMax who is putting this up with Mojang, not Bethseda?

Zenimax is Bethesda
Zenimax is Bethesda
In the same sense that Activision is Treyarch.

Zenimax was literally founded by the exact same people who founded Bethesda as a holding company.
I'm not talking about a corporation going around scooping up smaller companies.
This is in the sense that Notch created a small holding company for Mojang.
Basically:
Skyrim was a hit, and there was absolutely no confusion or lost sales, so let's settle

The same dynamic is still there, Zenimax is the parent company of Bethesda which means that just because Zenimax is going around having trademark disputes doesn't mean Bethesda has anything to do with it. And actually Zenimax did buy id software and arkane studios, but maybe they're not going around scooping them up... but still.
I don't see why it was necessary for Zenimax to throw a fit over this anyway. Wasn't one of the main reasons because it would throw confusion between the two?
Almost everyone I know IRL recognizes TES IV as Oblivion and TES V as Skyrim (with Skyrim being a sequel to Oblivion). They don't even know that Morrowind, Daggerfall or Arena exist.
