Damn, they had some great character builds and discussion on there for Dragon Age and Mass Effect. Looks like I'll have to find somewhere else for builds and discussion for Mass Effect Andromeda.
EAware grows stronger.
But where will I find out what my favorite character's sweat tastes like now?
Goodbye Stanley Woo may you ding dong bannu forever in our hearts
They should've just left it as Read-only forever.
I guess that's end of rine...
Good riddance
That kinda sucks. It was a passionate community and while a lot of people were nutty, I met some nice people there and had some positive experiences. Even if I mostly lurked it was nice to just see people discuss the Mass Effect games in such depth and love. Shame to see that its all going away now.
I spent a decent amount of time on the ME3MP forums, lots of great info and theorycrafting there.

I guess in the end... everyone get the bannu...
everybody archive all the good character builds for the games
It's sad to see it go but I can see why, the rise of Reddit has really made a lot of these dedicated forums redundant. I never really bother visiting forums for new titles releasing, I simply just hop on the sub-reddit dedicated to the game and more often than not developers are more active on Reddit than on their own forums.
Damn, this makes me sad. The Bioware Social Network was the first forum I ever signed up to. I have so many memories from there and I met so many people. RIP
So when is Facepunch going to die?
When garry pushes that [del]trainwreck[/del]glorious replacement he's making live.
So when is Facepunch going to die?
Facepunch has a pretty strong community outside Garry's Mod/Rust. Many other forums don't manage to cultivate a community like that, so when the games age and the popularity drops so does the community. I don't know how many people were actively discussing Dragon Age: Origins 7 years after release, but I can't imagine that there were a lot. Garry's Mod is still being updated and the development of Rust is still active with frequent updates so I don't really see Facepunch dying. The GD/GGD/Fast Threads/SH etc. community might die off but it's still going to be the largest go-to place for Garry's Mod and Rust discussions.
Seems like there would be a lot of information about older games (Neverwinter Nights for example) going lost as well - what a shame.

Guess it's time for a silent candle vigil.

I've seen 'Fast' Anime go 14 hours without a post.
we will never miss you GayWare forums
