• Windows 8 can SMD

What's this new video of some egghead showing shit around in Windows 8? Instead of improving NTFS (so that I don't get that stupid shit Windows 7 gave me after I rebooted during a bad, frozen write cycle), they "made it easy to slide photos and shit around". They also made a (yet again) simpler UI. The good news is I don't have to lift a freaking finger to scratch my virtual friend's anus -- the bad news is that the average PC user IQ will drop from 85 (downs) to 13 (tuna sandwich). Windows 8 can suck my dick. Edit Sources, people! I shan't forget my sources! It's a business, priority 1 is making money which means making it more marketable and appeal to a wider audience. It's why open source is better, because priority 1 is to make it better.
Well, since they're making Windows 8 look like some horrible Rainmeter skin, I'll be staying with Windows 7/Linux...
The current UI in Windows 7 is fine goddammit, now deliver that revolutionary filesystem you keep on postponing :argh:
Well, since they're making Windows 8 look like some horrible Rainmeter skin, I'll be staying with Windows 7/Linux...
It's completely optional. Don't want it, don't use it.
It's completely optional. Don't want it, don't use it.
I feel compelled to rate every one of your posts "winner" because of your avatar.
Well, since they're making Windows 8 look like some horrible Rainmeter skin, I'll be staying with Windows 7/Linux...
this is an optional skin that will most likely only be used for tablets.
It's all about what it looks like nowadays, it seems. :| Need to be smooth, in design, but not in the core aspect! (sarcasm obviously)
I love how people judge an OS at face value and that's it. "Instead of improving NTFS..." Yeah instead of improving it, they're creating a whole new FS. But lets just shit on MS anyway.
though truth be told, we don't actually know if that's a replacement for NTFS unless we've learned more
Well from what I've read, it'd be awfully dumb of them to make this new FS which by the little info we have seems good and not use it for anything important. And what Rafael found seemed to hint at replacement.
it looks pretty cool but an interface like that has no place on a desktop, OR a laptop for that matter it belongs on phones and such
it looks pretty cool but an interface like that has no place on a desktop, OR a laptop for that matter it belongs on phones and such
you can always stick with the old interface
it looks pretty cool but an interface like that has no place on a desktop, OR a laptop for that matter it belongs on phones and such
It's for tablets you goon. It can be turned off at the push of a button too from what I remember.
It's for tablets you goon. It can be turned off at the push of a button too from what I remember.
Bingo! Give this man a medal... Oh, but let's not let that stop us from exaggerating and forming a little "The Sky is Falling" cult. Seriously, people, do a little more research. The new skin will be, from what we've heard so far, activated the same way alternate themes are activated today, through an appearance menu. They'll likely be recycling Windows 7's UI (with some improvements) as the base desktop UI.
This is what happens when gates retires. Fuck.
This is what happens when gates retires. Fuck.
He's still a chairman at Microsoft.
This is what happens when gates retires. Fuck.
What happened? I've noticed nothing different.
What happened? I've noticed nothing different.
Well, a rather good OS called Windows 7 came by. Anyway, he probably have a big say in what the company should do.

It looks pretty nice and is very clean still. Though if you do feel like it, you can always activate the tablet interface (Metro I think isn't it?).
Eew no thanks. I'm using a computer, not a smartphine. I'll keep my desktop. [editline]13th July 2011[/editline]
Bingo! Give this man a medal... The new interface should be named L'interface terribles [editline]14th July 2011[/editline] The new interface is terrible, much like Internet Exploder (AKA Le navigateur terribles) is terrible.
Looks fine to me.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p92QfWOw88I Why do people like touch computer so much? It's frustrating me that windows is taking a apple approach at windows 8. Looks like im going to keep vista. [editline]14th July 2011[/editline] I suppose it would be okay on a slate, but a desktop, ehhhh....
Oh God, that portrait in the top right corner made me think of the Xbox 360's interface. Please God, no.
Looks neat, and something new for a change. And who knows, maybe it's easier to use than all these windows floating about on my screen? if it's not, I'll not use the feature. Does anyone remember Windows Media Center in XP? It looks similar and it's probably gonna be implemented the same way.
Boy, sure is "didn't read thread so i'll make stupid posts" in here!
This is why we need Intelligence Points and Bad Reading back...
holy shit this thread is full of people making a bunch of blind assumptions

Not "terribles". As in, "Ta grammaire est terrible." And IE9 isn't that bad now!
