EA and Microsoft continue to innovate.
So basically you're using the voice command feature on the kinect to... tell your co-op partner what to do? Can you not just tell them what to do over voice chat?
Suppose it's better than having that clunky xbox headset on your head but still eh
Nope thanks I'm still bitter about the amount of times I was playing Halo CEA with a kinect and everytime I said to scan it would throw and grenade instead
Its like the kinect is better at anything it wasn't MADE for...

why wont they let the kinect die for gameplay. Just focus more on all the shit that doesnt involve playing a game with kinect, like 3d animating,
I think it would be alright for people who don't want to use microphones, assuming they say something to the kinect, then their character says it. I think it would be much less immersion breaking if I could ask for help, and Issac / John would call out for help, rather saying it over the mic
I think it's actually done to control an AI coop partner. Think of it as voice commands for those.
This is not the kind of "innovation" we need, microphones are just as good for this purpose.

The thing is, that the kinect essentially has a whole audio engine that's used to analysing voices and translating them into comamnds and meanings. You could do this in the game itself - Endwar did it for instance, but if you use the kinect API's instead, you'll usually get a much more robust control and performance over the end result. Yes, MS creams it's pocket via it, but the hardware is actually quite good.
