Going to Game design school is like going to art school..
Its useless.
I have a friend currently at Staffordshire Uni doing Games Programming, which seems like the only games centric course worth doing as you at least get some other skills like software development.

Games Programming at Teesside is meant to be the best one in the country, I had an interview there and their facilities are state of the art and they seemed to have a clue what they were talking about.
Games Design degrees are a bit like a video game themed art degree, with some stuff like 3D modelling thrown in.

I beg to differ, if you do some design studies it's really a useful and important job.
