• I know this is an oxymoron, but is this a good prebuilt?

I am tired of running games on my friggin Pentium 4, with 8800GT, talk about lag.
that'll run the games you want, but you should consider building or parts you pick out and get assembled for 50$
You could build a computer with similar specs for $200-$300 cheaper.
You could build a computer with similar specs for $200-$300 cheaper.
I actually just pretty much made the same build, (not literally, just looking up parts) and I pushed it to 6GB RAM, and Windows 7 PRO, and it came to $938. And it still doesn't come with a mouse and keyboard. So actually. For once. No. Here: http://extreme-pc.ca/showproduct.asp?productid=373911&menu1id=12&menu2id=83&menu3id=44 105 http://www.shopbot.ca/m/?m=NZXT+Hades 110 750 watt PSU http://www.shopbot.ca/m/?m=750+watt+PSU 120 mobo http://extreme-pc.ca/showproduct.asp?productid=374106&menu1id=12&menu2id=90&menu3id=34 193 6gb ddr3 RAM http://www.canadacomputers.com/product_info.php?cPath=24_311_312_611&item_id=020503 67 1tb HDD http://www.ecsrv.com/ShopSearchPage.aspx?No=220146&ST=ST31000528AS 60 windows 7 pro http://www.hltechnology.com/one_prod.php?pid=209980 140 HD 5770 1gb http://www.shopbot.ca/m/?m=HD+5770 120 Add all those up and add tax it comes to $1043.10 And still no keyboard and mouse.
You can also reuse the 8800GT if you want. Should handle your games fine (BC2 on high settings not max though).
$700 USD after $60 mail in rebates. Anyways, i'll try another custom build in a sec. Sandy bridge. [editline]19th March 2011[/editline] How big of a hard drive do you actually need? [editline]19th March 2011[/editline] Well, here it is anyway. A whole lot better than that thing you are considering. $1,027.90 - $47 Mail-in Rebates = $980.90 CAD http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827135204 http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148433 http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139018 http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16832116754 http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811147153 http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125356 http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16823126041 http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820220435 http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130582 http://www.newegg.ca/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.614716
Yes i need a terabyte, this computer has 379 gb left, and i removed a lot recently, and I still have externals I use, so yes. I need a terabyte, 80% of the things on my computer are games. Ok so like all that stuff?? can i get it shipped for free?? if not, then pointless. And like mail in rebates, they usually don't work. Seriously, I've tried probably about 7 times with these things that claim they have rebates, and they do not work. They sometimes want you to fax something, which i do, which is fine, but then they claim to not have received the fax, it's a fucking mess. Edit: Still really good build and only a few dollars over budget and I will look into that, do I need to buy a heatsink or thermal paste? Or does the proc come with default stuff... which I don't care, because the default stuff will be fine, I don't think I will overclock just yet. Also will this be 64-bit?
This seems really cheap for what you're getting. I wonder what's wrong with it.
This seems really cheap for what you're getting. I wonder what's wrong with it.
I don't know. Says new. The reviews are good.
Let's put it this way. I really doubt that iBUYPOWER is gonna just build a computer for free. They're making money off this somehow and I'm willing to bet they skimped and bought all the cheapest parts they could find. You want a solid PC, build it yourself. Don't let them trick you into paying more for less. I could put together parts that'll run those games if you're okay with building your PC.

Also will this be 64-bit?
The 2500k is 64 bit compatible and it comes with a cooler that has thermal paste applied to it. And if can't afford that with shipping, you could downgrade the GPU to a 6850 or a 6870. With the games you want to play, i'm sure that the 68s can provide a playable framerate at max settings, even if it is lower than the 6950. When I put together builds, I usually push the budget to the max and suggest compromises as I did here. You could downgrade the GPU, and maybe the case if you find a better one for cheaper. Even if you do like it, I suggest you look at a few and try to find one that you really like. As for mail in rebates, I can't speak for them too much, but I can tell you that mail in rebates are handled by each individual company. And if you read the reviews, sometimes people will mention the rebates.
Thanks guys! I think i'm gonna go with this, I am going to the computer shop near me. My friends have used him before and have been fully satisfied, he says he orders the cheapest because he orders directly from warehouses and stuff. I'll see how this goes.
Just saying, when I was 15 I was saving up to build a nice computer and pretty much did this, now I really regret not waiting
