Still got it for like 20$ months ago.
Is this available outside the US? (The Amazon stuff that is)
Saw this yesterday. This for $30 and B2K for $7 is a great deal.
Tempted by B2k, $30 for it on Origin, Nothanks.
Fuck, this makes me realize how many games I have, I have like over half of these.
I don't really like this whole sales wave going on nowadays. Everyone's doing it, all the time. It's not that I don't like sales, it's that I don't like that we have them absolutely every day and they are usually quite big as well. We've gotten to the point where games really don't cost what it says they cost, because in a months time (and even before a month) they'll go on a sale, 25/33/50/75/88/90% off. A game just hardly ever is worth buying at full price. We've even gotten so spoiled people start complaining when there is a sale because "It's only 33% off, cheap asses!" "It's been out for 2-3 months and it's ONLY 25% OFF?! What the fuck PublisherName?!" And of course what I've already mentioned, "ehh, I'll probably get it when it goes on sale". Sale is no longer a sale, it's something people expect and wait for. Instead of getting people to buy your product because "OHMYGOD HOLY SHIT IT'S ON SALE JUST NOW I MAY NEVER GET IT THIS CHEAP IN YEARS!!!" it's just become "Finally, it's on sale... Oh wait, it's only 33% off, I'll wait until later".
It is pretty crazy that this is the second time I've seen BF3 50% off after such a short time of being released. And it's not like they're hurting in number of players either.
are you seriously fucking complaining about sales?
Think he's trying to say games that cost $60 but go on sale for $30 around a month later show that game developers are pricing their games high for no good reason, or something like that..
I highly recommend getting Call of Juarez 1 and 2. They're really underrated games that have great stories and lots of charm that keep them memorable for me.
Caved and bought BF3 (not from Origin, got it from ultimatumkeys), and for $7.50 for Back to Karkand was pretty irresistible. I don't regret a thing, I really love the game.
Anno 2070 isn't a terrible game, but I'm also new to the series (and don't particularly care about Ubisoft DRM).
are you seriously fucking complaining about sales?
Yes, I'm complaining about the frequency and amount of sales. It's become the expected rather than the pleasantly unexpected. It's no longer sales, it's just that time when the price of the game isn't what it pretended to be.
If you don't have Battlefield but were huge fans of the older games like BF2 and 2142, I don't recommend getting this game. You'll be so disappointed.
I'm sticking to BC2 in the meantime. I can't run BF3
I'd rather save money than be more pleasantly surprised because there's so few sales
The thing is that you're not really saving money, it's more like sales have become the normal price and anyone who buys it at full price is stupid because it goes on sale right away.
If you don't have Battlefield but were huge fans of the older games like BF2 and 2142, I don't recommend getting this game. You'll be so disappointed.
I don't think it's that bad compared to the older games. It's definitely not like BF2 and it's not really like 2142, either. DICE seems to be moving Battlefield from a more large-scale vehicular-based approach, to a more "jack-of-all-trades" type game that features both CQB and larger-scaled classic Battlefield combat. Because of that, it has an even split of more classic Battlefield gameplay with huge maps and long distance combat (Caspian; Kharg; Firestorm; Noshashr kind of; all the B2K maps; and, more likely than not, the Armored Kill maps coming out in about six months, which are completely vehicular based) and a more CQB approach on others, with more infantry focus instead of vehicular focus (Bazaar, Metro, Seine, and all the Close Quarters DLC maps, plus Tehran kind of). It is heavily dependent on which gamemode you play and what map you're playing it on. For example, SQDM and TDM are much more infantry based than Rush and most definitely Conquest. Basically, the game tries to cater to all types of combat in different way, so if you like more classic Battlefield, stick with the larger maps. If you want a break from that and want some CQB, then go for one of the smaller maps. It is definitely worth the only $36 they're charging for it now.
If you don't have Battlefield but were huge fans of the older games like BF2 and 2142, I don't recommend getting this game. You'll be so disappointed.
Uh, plenty of people that enjoy the game are fans of the older game's. Perhaps they're not going buying the game expecting a 1:1 replica with updated graphics. It's a fucking brilliant game in itself especially with a few friends.
If you don't have Battlefield but were huge fans of the older games like BF2 and 2142, I don't recommend getting this game. You'll be so disappointed.
To me BF3 felt like BF2 in some ways. The game is still really fun and worth the price (In my Opinion)
Even at 30$ it still requires Origin, which is a deal breaker for me.
Even at 30$ it still requires Origin, which is a deal breaker for me.
What's so bad about Origin? The only thing I don't like about it is the fact that it splits my game collection between it and Steam, which isn't all that bad.
What's so bad about Origin? People that support this crap are the same people that supported DLC for games. Look what happen to Mass Effect 3, their starting to cutout content before the game is out and offering it as "Extra Content". I can't support that type of business model or that type of company. Whatever happen to releasing expansion packs that were practically full games at a 30$ price?
Amazon, you lied to me. The Haunted isn't 5$. I may get Supah Streets fighter though.

Whatever happen to releasing expansion packs that were practically full games at a 30$ price?
To be fair, all of the Bioware games (Dragon Age and Mass Effect especially) have always had godawful DLC plans. Contrarily, Battlefield's DLC content isn't all that bad. The only Day 1 stuff that they released were some preorder dog tags and a camo or two, but nothing game changing. Plus, the new DLC that they're churning out is also pretty good. For example, Back to Karkand brought back some of the more classic maps, plus a couple new vehicles and weapons; Close Quarters changes the game into more of an infantry-based experience with some new maps, weapons, and maybe vehicles but that's probably not going to happen based on what I can assume; and Armored Kill, which is supposed to shift the game into a more vehicular focus with incredibly large maps and new vehicles, plus maybe some new weapons. This is not to mention End Game, which none of us are sure what that's going to bring to the table. Sure, maybe they're not practically full games on their own, but they're not $30 and they do change things up quite a bit. My point being is that EA seems to do DLC on a game-by-game basis, and how the DLC is planned out is at least partly at the developer's hands, it would seem.
Its a good game, but if you already have BF2/BFBC2, dont bother.
