• Lower graphics more lag. Better graphics less lag. How so?

So, my pc is: Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.4 Ghz E4600 4 GB RAM DDR2 800 Mhz 1 GB Video Card GDDR2 GT9500 and not so long ago I bought new monitor. With previous monitor which max res was 1024x768 I couldn't even run Fallout 3 on medium with no lagging and low fps. But when I bought new monitor now which max res is 1920x1080 ( the res I use is 1920x1080 in game ) I can run Fallout 3 on max and has no lag and has quite nice fps. ( Don't know exact FPS since I don't have FPS option enabled ) So how come? And in case you may ask did I have V-Sync enabled before I say no! I never had it enabled because I never had streching or other deffects of visual.
Refresh rate...
on previous monitor max was 75 hz on this max is 60.
who gives a damn free fps ftw :)
on previous monitor max was 75 hz on this max is 60.
The difference between 60hz and 75hz is like night and day in terms of smoothness.
The difference between 60hz and 75hz is like night and day in terms of smoothness.
60 is already damn smooth.
Until or unless you can provide measured fps, I'm going with 'placebo effect' if it's not due to vsync being enabled before. "lag" and "low fps" and "quite nice fps" can mean anything, so they mean nothing. Especially when talking about high resolution gaming with a 9500GT.
The difference between 60hz and 75hz is like night and day in terms of smoothness.
But then it would get laggier with his new monitor.
I have a 120hz lcd monitor, I can never look at 60hz in the same way. 120hz is so damn smooth.
and how many graphics cards in sli do you need to run the latest games at high with that.
what?
what?
He's asking how many cards he needs in SLi to see games at max at 120 Hz. I thought it made sense.
He's asking how many cards he needs in SLi to see games at max at 120 Hz. I thought it made sense.
none? one 5850 or GTX 470 would be enough to average 120 FPS or higher in most games. That may be kind of generous, maybe a 480 or 5870
name the two most demanding games on the market, of course the only one you mentioned that a 480 would come close to pushing 120 FPS in is BC2
yes, of course. thats the point. :circles:
none?
yeah he needs no graphics cards
If I change my monitor to 75hz, it looks like shit compared to 60hz
yeah he needs no graphics cards
None in SLI atleast
This is like Bad Company 2 and NFS Shift for me, had the same thing.
The difference between 60hz and 75hz is like night and day in terms of smoothness.
it's more like the difference between 1 pm and 1:02 pm
That^
If I change my monitor to 75hz, it looks like shit compared to 60hz
You still gotn an old crt? Most LCD's cant be changed to 75 Hz annymore, so if you force it from your pc it will look like crap yes.
It's Karma's way of saying thanks.
most likely "i didnt mean to"
