You mean Eve Online?
They said they were also striving for accessibility.
Something Eve Online is not good at.
So far I like what the developers did into this game, and almost add in everything in the game. Player Housing that is more robust and useful to everyone, pretty much you can have your own garden, your own raid dungeon portal, your own crafting station, the more decorations you add in, the more rest xp you get, it all sounded good and almost close to what everquest 2 had.
I like how I can take a different path such as if I want to make a city or settlemen, all I have to do is select the pioneer/settler path. If I want to know the world, the plants, and other things, i just be a scientist. If I want to explore the damn world and due time trial stuff, i be an explorer. So many things you can possibly can do until we reach into a certain undeveloped point.

This and EVE are two different types of MMOs and not really comparable at all.
It's not going to be as deep nor as accessible as WoW, but it's pretty cute they bring up subscriber numbers.

Yes ok Mr. I Clearly Have Played The Whole Game
Eh.... Same old MMO formula from what I've seen. Much more excited for things like ArcheAge/Repopulation/Black Desert/World of Darkness. Sandbox is the future and I'm glad it's finally catching on.

What you said contradicts it self. WoW is accessible because it is casual and anyone can play it. It is deep as a kiddie pool. Top DPS in that game uses a 4 ability rotation.
Searing Totem Maintain as much as possible. Provides Searing Flames.
Lightning Bolt with 5 Maelstrom Weapon.
Stormstrike / Stormblast on cooldown.
Flame Shock refresh DoT when Unleash Flame is up.
Lava Lash on cooldown.
Unleash Elements on cooldown.
Earth Shock on cooldown.
Lightning Bolt as a filler spell.
The key to Enhancement Shaman DPS is to keep Searing Totem down and to quickly use Lightning Bolt with 5 Maelstrom Weapon. From here, cast Stormstrike on cooldown. Stormstrike becomes Stormblast during Ascendance, but maintains the same position in your rotation. Maintaining the DoT from Flame Shock is your next priority, but Flame Shock should only ever be applied and refreshed when Unleash Flame is available from Unleash Elements. Cast Lava Lash on cooldown. Finally, use Earth Shock and Lightning Bolt as filler spells.
AoE Rotation
Flame Shock -> Lava Lash -> Fire Nova
Chain Lightning with 5 Maelstrom Weapon
Magma Totem
Keep Magma Totem down, Flame Shock a target and immediately Lava Lash to spread Flame Shock. Then use Fire Nova every time it’s up. Whenever Maelstrom Weapon stacks to 5, cast Chain Lightning. Also, use Unleash Elements every time it’s up, so that Fire Nova can take advantage of Unleash Flame.
Ancestral Swiftness Use on cooldown for an instant Lightning Bolt.
These are effective cooldowns to try and incorporate into most all encounters.
Ascendance Use on cooldown. Stormstrike becomes Stormblast. Stack with Bloodlust.
Bloodlust Epic group cooldown. Use as directed by your party/raid leader.
Feral Spirit Use on every cooldown. Stack with Bloodlust.
Fire Elemental Totem Cast with as many self-buffs as possible to maximize DPS.
Shamanistic Rage Use on every cooldown.
Spiritwalker's Grace Use during periods of high movement to maintain DPS.
Stormlash Totem Use as directed by your party/raid leader. Stack with Bloodlust.
"4 abilities" is simplifying it a little bit, but yeah admittedly stuff like that doesn't look very complex to somebody that's actually spent a reasonable amount of time with the game. Also yes Enhancement Shamans are top dps.

Since when was World of Warcraft deep? It is the paint by numbers template that the influx of "shallow" MMOs come from.
Wait a sec... it's NCSoft. F2P?

Please show me an MMO with a culture that even approaches the hardcore raiding scene.

they had P2P games in the past, remember city of heroes and tabula rasa?

It doesn't contradict itself at all if you know anything about WoW. It's a super-accessible game or incredibly challenging depending on what content you are doing. You can't say WoW is as deep as a kiddie pool if you haven't done heroic raid content.

F2P or dead in a year.
Reminds me of swgprecu to some degree, which is a good thing.
this game is different and unique like every other mmo :)
Game looks neat, but I will be waiting to see the model it goes for. If it's subscription based I am going to stay far away from it.

It's going to use a hybrid system, which means you can play without subscribing in atleast some capacity.
This game looks fucking great.

And from what little I have played, it is.
"We want the CoD audience/can make the wow killer" never means anything good.
The last thing you should ever do is relate your mmo to wow.

Considering the fact that WoW is still the top MMO, it is always a goal for a company to shoot for to actually try and take it down through various means. Whether that means innovation or out-doing WoW at its own game is completely in the hands of the devs.

An NCSoft game isn't going to do this (they have tried) so they should be shooting for the former.

Yeah. They do some pretty cool stuff in lieu of trying not to be WoW. Not all of it works out that well though.
the fact they are addressing things at such an early stage in regards to want people want/expect from a modern MMO release makes me less worried about the game.
There's a huge potential in this game no doubt. Mentioning warcraft though gets attention be it good or bad. They should let the game do the talking for them.
Eh I remember when they were kind of making this sound more like a sandbox MMO.
If they're comparing themselves to WoW, then I have no hope for this. Every themepark MMO will essentially fail until somebody wises up and goes the sandbox route.

This shit where they mention WoW is just on the marketing side of things.
There's still a strong sandbox-y component to the game- maybe not as intense as something like EVE, but its there.

I'll just have to research it once it's actually released. The "sandbox" features so far seem a bit vague to me and it looks more themepark tripe, but I'd love to be proven wrong.
