Im looking for a replacement Laptop because i broke the screen of my current laptop and i dont really wanna replace it. My current laptop: Make: Acer/Packard Bell 5750g/TS11HR (P5WE0) CPU: i3 2330m GPU: Internal HD3000 + GT 520M HDD: SSD 120GB RAM: 8GB When i bought this laptop it was like 700€ shipped (2011?) Im looking for a laptop with similar performance. This laptop was mainly used for Youtubing/Twitch.tv and writing word/excel documents. Shoud not be bigger then 15". I know this might sound stupid but i dont really want a laptop with BGA Cpus, i dont believe in soldered in CPUs. Thank you for helping Heres the damage: [t]http://i.imgur.com/V4qLRUl.jpg[/t] The Screen is cracked from left top/middle to bottom right and from side left to right edit: fk me, if i ever knew these lcds were so fragile ... :(
Pretty much any laptop sold nowadays will match that performance, so do you want lightness, reliability or performance?. Also, LCDs are super easy to replace. On most laptops you can just unceremoniously tear the front display bezel off and unscrew the panel in a few seconds. (BGA CPUs haven't been a concern since the bad quality solder of the mid-2000s, either, and it's not even economical to upgrade the CPU on a modern laptop).

Well, the newest line of Lenovos aren't so bad and the Thinkpad E470 is pretty well-reviewed (and around the price of your old laptop). There are far better options for gaming power, but modern Lenovos are pleasant to use overall (I'm using a T460s right now).
Quick update I just fixed my laptop: I still had a old overheated Dell Studio 1555 lying around and i put the screen from the Dell inside my acer/packard bell. How did i know that ? I looked both screens on multiple sites up and i noticed that it had similair if not identical board design and connectors (even the colours match). Plugged it in, turned it on and it works! No errors, everything works. Except the dell LCD might be a bit slower I am so happy right now [t]http://i.imgur.com/tCcdZH3.jpg[/t]
LCD panels are one of the few off the shelf parts common between laptop manufacturers. If the back of the panel looks almost the same, it's probably the same panel with slight variations. You can compare the part numbers on the backs of the screens to see the differences between them.
I have had an ASUS laptop for a few years with no issues..
You can remove the broken screen and check the part number, ususlly the price is around $40 for a 14" and 15.6" screen.
